Brumbies vs Chiefs

@Stargazer not sure you can just flush the dunny. Some changes required. McKenzie makes way too many mistakes and runs across field, so can’t see the Chiefs improving with him at 1st five. Stephenson just kicked the ball away with a meaningless grubber early on after the Chiefs had held the ball and built pressure - and then was a turnstile on defence for rest of game. That backline looked horrible. End the experiment and put Mckenzie back at full back where he doesn’t have to run the game.
Oh, I agree 100%. I meant more that we as rugby fans should move on asap. It's far too frustrating to spend too much time thinking about games like these.
Not sure when Debreczeni will be back, and also not sure whether Cooper would even consider starting him at 10 and Dmac at 15, but it would IMO be the best thing to do. Dmac at 10 just doesn't work, but with Falcon out for the season, they may not want to make that change.

Bloody hell has anybody checked to make sure the Ferret wasn't in the coaching box with Colin Cooper.

The Brumbies were on fire but too many journeymen in that Chiefs line up. Some of the basic defensive positioning was dire. The intent you couldn't fault but the rugby IQ was seriously missing.

@antipodean Do I need to tell my story about watching Crusaders v reds with a bunch of fluffybunnies from Waiwhakamukau North Island in Samoa on my honeymoon again? Short ending: Me and the the hotel staff had a great time, the jealous pathetic pig islanders left embarassed muttering to themselves about Justin Marshall and Reuben Thorne. They were supporting the FUCKING REDS over a kiwi team, Samoans were shocked.
only a Cantab could watch Rugby on his honeymoon.

Rampant Brumbies, Incompetent Chiefs, and Feral Cantabs: yet more reasons to curse at rugby in February.
Bring on Bangladesh...
Amen brother

Oh and the chiefs are not my birthright. Bay 9f Plenty at the Tauranga Domain is my birth right.
The Chiefs are what I was assigned when this all kicked off, a team comprising of the Waikato pack and the Harbour backs.
And for some dumb ass reason I'm loyal to marketing so I've stuck strong.
And let's face it, I could have jumped at any number of lows, there have been a few. But I'm still here.
So this hurts. But our team is quite shit so I'm not surprised. The kiwis domination is over, we are too eroded. The chiefs, landers and blues are no better than okay. Other teams will trip us up all year.

@mariner4life and the canes, they were embarrassing against the saders

waaah, I left Canterbury that one time and some Chiefs fans were fluffybunnies, waaah!
Newsflash, princesses:
The 80/20 rule even applies to rugby fans - every team has a few oxygen thieves out there as supporters. If you haven’t seen them, it’s you.Should I remember my away fan visits to Lancaster Park by the many Canterbury fans who were pleased to see us in town, and engaged in good natured banter and great yarns. Or should I remember you lot by a small group of Canterbury fans with the collective IQ of a sewage pond and the wit of sloths - who swore at us from kickoff till final whistle one game, even once the Bay were down by 30 and the game was over as a contest.
But yay! Go Australian team, haha Chiefs

@Donsteppa Unfortunately my main experience of Chiefs fans is here on thesilverfern...
An Australian team over locals. I’d even take a deep breath and support Hawke’s Bay against the West Islanders.
And that’s after seeing a group in Hawke’s Bay jerseys turn up at Baypark to cheer for Southland against the Steamers. And then Southland bloody won. FFS...

Can easily throw the Canes in that bucket right now as well.
But, it's a messy start to the season. ABs not playing, senior players with an eye on the big dance later in the year. For me personally it won't be until rounds 4 or 5 that I really get interested, and I'd say it will probably be the same for a lot of players as they start to ramp up into a very long season.

@Donsteppa I'm not saying I'd ever do such a disgusting thing, I support the Blues over any convict scum team they play, just proving Chiefs fans are consistently the most pathetic hypocrites.
... brays the Brumbies cheering mob.
An enforced week at Green and Gold rugby after a Bledisloe game should cure any self respecting Kiwi of such ills.

Watching this game was very similar to watching Highlanders vs Reds. Reds like Brumbies were breaking line through offloads etc., hitting hard in D. Highlanders though displayed a bit of grit and showed much more leadership from Whitelock, Smith N Smith etc to never give in. It seemed in this game that once Chiefs were broken they couldnt calm themselves down and get back to processes. BBBR is not really that guy or MacKenzie and ALB. could be a very long season.
ALB in a poor side looks very good though, looks even bigger than last year but still with footwork, hope it translates to ABs.
