This is after Kyrie made a very public song and dance on court earlier in the season about how he'd be re-signing.
The drama is more interesting than the on court action! The Knicks have cleared room for two super stars next season. Unless KD has given them a strong indication he wants to play there I don't see that organisation attracting top free agents straight up
-
Torrey Craig with a bit of a day out v the Rockets. 22 points! Nuggets looking good for 2nd in the West

It is!
I reckon the Knicks would just about need to guarantee to Superstar #1 that Superstar #2 is a lock-in for this to work. $71m in cap space or something?!

Yup. I can't help but think they'll stuff it up

I could see them bagging one who then leaves in 1-1 1/2 seasons.
And KP will be an All Star in 2020.

Loved his leaner dunk and then followed it up with a pull up three.
Beasley’s best game too. Very good win for the Nuggets even without their more high profile guards in Gary Harris and Jamal Murray. Joker is a unique player. Looks almost awkward but is so damn effective

Sounds like the Lakers' first trade offer to the Pelicans was a bit shit. If does read though as if they're gonna basically have to give away all their decent youngsters to get AD. Ball, Rondo and Kuzma could all go. I don't see how this benefits the Lakers in either the short term (you've gotta have a supporting cast) or long term.

ESPN commentators, especially Jalen Rose suggest it's going to take around 5 first team capable players (Kuz, Ball, KCP for salary, Ingram and maybe Wagner or Zubac), I'd imagine that it was a first offer and they will improve things. If they want him they need to strike now IMO, New Orleans are already acting like he is gone and the right offer will grab him. AD is one of the top 5 players in the league, a player entering his prime who can be the cornerstone of the club for over a decade if he stays healthy. I'm not convinced any of those young players will become perennial all stars and even though I'd like to keep Kuz and Zubac I think NO will want Kuz. If you have LBJ and AD they will find players who want to join

Yeah I suppose Nick van Exel and James Worthy might wana make comebacks.
When LBJ and Bosh went to Miami with Wade they got guys like Mike Miller, Shane Battier, Jesus Shuttleworth, lots of role players and shooters to complement the all star core

But Lakers need a ‘big 3’ so I don’t they will be giving up Ingram.
A frontline of LBJ, AD and Ingram has agility, length, outside/inside. Doesn’t really matter who the guards are, as long as they can switch on D and hit the outside shot. No need for ball handlers, or creators off the dribble. Just get to a corner and be ready to catch and shoot.

I get where you are going but I don't think NO gives up AD without him. That and the fact that he seems to play worse when LBJ is on the court. Ingram might be a very good player in the NBA in future, maybe even very good, AD is nek level and only 4 years older

@canefan the AD trade rumours roll on. LA have reportedly offered to absorb a bad contract and trade Ingram Ball and Kuzma for AD, but the pelicans aren't biting. Yet. Meanwhile Davis has expanded his list of preferred teams to include the Knicks and the Bucks. Sounds like an attempt to draw focus off the perception that he only wants to go to LA as I don't think either is a realistic spot for him. Now if NY got KD......
-
Spurs lose to break a 5-game unbeaten streak. And even that wasn't enough to take us above 6th in the West. Mainly because all of the teams ahead of the Spurs are better.
If Golden State don't wake up a little, they may not have home court for the finals, with the Bucks keeping a pretty handy record. And the Raptors not far behind.

I new to all this NBA trade shit - if LA and NO can come to an agreement does AD go this season?

They have 5 or 6 days before the trade deadline. If a deal is reached he will play out the season with the Lakers

This is a classic case of the player and the team holding out before the trade deadline (this Thursday afternoon US time).
If NO don’t deal before Thursday they will not get anything come end of the season when AD as a free agent can leave. A super max deal from NO is on the table for AD that no other team can match, but given he says he wants to go and won’t play for NO again, NO are trying to come out of it at least with something to build a future on.

@ACT-Crusader I thought he had another year left before he becomes a FA? So that's why the Pelicans are actually in a decent position to sit on their hands?
