Pats win, and now there's a discussion about changing the rules for OT.
Just because you win the toss doesn't mean you win the game. Look at the Saints.
It would be interesting to see that stats for teams winning the toss to win on their opening drive of OT.

One of the craziest stats I've heard so far is that Tom Brady is going to have more Superbowl appearances than any other franchise in history. Steelers, Broncos and Cowboys have only been to 8.

But man, my heart goes out to the Saints. Their recent losses in the playoffs have got to hurt.
In saying that, I have been supporting the Rams ever since they made moves to become a win now team. They really stacked their team, and it will be interesting to see what pans out over the next few years to see if they can extend their window.

@mimic Not only that, Brady has been to the SB in over half his seasons in the NFL as a QB. Ridiculous, says as much about his ability as it does about Belichick's ability to mastermind his team to success

I reckon the Patriots win, it's just what they do. It's fucking unbelievable how they just keep doing it too. Some organisations just have success built in to them.

The only thing that gives me pause is the Rams have a couple of guys on defense who can actually get at Brady.

I'm picking the Rams to beat the Patriots just like the Eagles did last year. Score 34-30. The Rams simply have the better team but never, ever rule out Brady & co to lead some crazy 4th quarter comeback.

I think it's exactly 50/50 for teams winning the toss. Which means they probably have it about right

edit: nope, I got that wrong. About a 52% chance if you win the toss it seems

It is embarassing how much the refs protect QBs now, Mr Brady being the most prominent. There was a play in the regular season when a defender let him go and he cruised through the line of scrimmage to score a TD. If the Rams' defenders get to him they will probably be penalised. So they might as well give him a good smashing 😡

    @canefan

Have a read of Bill Barnwell's piece on the Pats myths.

Tom Brady can't be touched. Gronk has lost a step. Let's fact-check all the theories about New England and figure out what's nonsense.

Why should I look at stats when I can use the eye test!!!!!!!

@nzzp yeah, but whats the percentage of winning on the opening drive after winning the toss?

It seems that most of the argument coming thru is that both QBs should have a chance to touch the ball.
But scoring a TD on the opening drive ain't easy. Unless you're Brady.

Patriots getting dominated? Quick, better blow them a super soft personal foul penalty.

Brady throws an INT on his first pass in the game. The 4th quarter comeback is already underway.

If Maroon 5 do the Spongebob Squarepants "Bubble Bowl" song it will be the only good thing so far in the game

So much for that high octane offence game. All about the defence in this Superbowl.
