The Maoris have pretty much beaten every international team at some point. Only scalp they don't have is the Boks, although 1981 was a draw from memory with a Maori dropped goal going very close to sealing an upset.

Have been a bit bored today so here goes. NZ provincial and other teams to defeat the Wallabies. Trust me this is a long list, amazing how many Heartland unions have had the Wallabies as a scalp at some point.

Sweet, got them all ... one union I just mind blanked on ... probably because they lost the first part of their name again this year.

I didn't think the Wallaby quiz would be a hard one, but I got a lot of pleasure compiling it!

managed 100%, just had to go through every province north to south and then add in the NZ Maori or NZ Universities or Combined Services. It probably been more difficult (but much shorter) to list the teams that haven't beaten the Wallabies

yup except I also tried teams that no longer exist like Bush, Golden Bay.

Has been interesting some of the comments around the USA game to be reminded of just how fucking poor Aussie have been for most of its history. Only when they got regular contact at a provincial level did they start to become a credible threat.

When I was growing up Tests against Australia were perceived like the Argie ones are now.

Less an All Blacks quiz this time, more of an international rugby one.

40 tries in international rugby. Have given the country as a hint for each player.

Ohata's record is a record but it is a bit of a dubious one in some ways as Japan has always played a lot of mismatches against other Asian countries. I think I remember someone scoring 7 or 8 tries in a game against Chinese-Taipei (actually Taiwan but will leave politics out of this), may have been the other Japanese player on this list.

Note to self; don't do these quizzes on a Friday afternoon when you've just told yr boss he's a fucking prick. Shockingly poor result. Forgot Latham. Couldn't remember Habana or O'Driscoll's names and as for Sushi and Sashimi - no freaking show :(

Yes, a pity there wasn't more of those now defunct teams on the list. UHB, for the sake of accuracy you need to change the year North Otago beat Aust to 1962.

I had a look at the results of the 1936 tour after doing the quiz and the Wallabies only won 3 of the 10 games played on that tour. Surprisingly they beat the NZ Maori 31-6 in their final match.
