I shared a song with him at the 7s whilst he was dressed as the biggest blue avatar thing I have ever seen.

I was a bearded frau with wine dispensing breasts - ah the good old days of the 7s before the fun police fucked it

Dare I ask what the song was? (Really hoping it wasn't "be my girl").

@machpants Well, there is a relief. Given that you were dressed as a chick and those blue things shagged with their tails or something...

Just snorted a Pinot all over the keboard - and the missing letter in that word doesn't work.

John Hart just gave me a wee chubbie. Good man manager, not afraid to call a spade a spade adn address poor performance. Outstanding.

@nzzp Has he addressed his poor performance when he played Cullen at 13 and Wilson at 15. 👿

@Nepia In 1999, it should have been Umaga 13, Wilson 14, Cullen 15. Umaga's performance in that semi final was really, really poor. But I suspect lack of power in the forwards and weak morale in the squad were more fundamental problems.

Tana should be fine as an Assistant Coach. Finally John Hart has selected him in the right position.

Not holding a grudge for too long, eh 🙂

Look, I'd have spat on his horse with the next guy at the time, but right now his business and governance experience is what the franchise needs. It's great to see some old heads coming back and being listened to... in this case in the back office rather than actively coaching.

    Also, Mark Carter. FFS.

John Hart had a similar role at the Warriors from ~2005-2011 so yeah I’ll believe it when I see it.

For all the talk about culture change the club still seems infatuated with ex-ABs (or coaches in this case) and very much behind the times.

Not the only ones though. Mauger, Brown, Blackadder, Robertson, Hammett, Deans, many more I'm sure.

@rotated wasnt the whole point that they needed more rugby expertise on the board which is why Hart was brought in?

They do and it's a poor policy if it extends to Super Rugby head coaching positions (which I don't believe it does).

It's clear from the article and previous moves the NZRU have been behind they want an ex-AB to step in and sprinkle Crusader-dust on the team... which has worked well at the Hurricanes, Warratahs, Wallabies, Cardiff...
