Amazing how things change in a lifetime.

Don Clarke's record 207 stood for soooo long. Hewie got close and it was talked about each time he played his last 4 or 5 tests.

Massive deal when Stu Wilson got his record equalling 16th try, off a flanker (Kirkpatrick). Was replayed over and over

Hewie's 26 points vs Aus was generally thought of as a freakish performance, and I think was a world record at the time. Especially poignant as it came against a top team and featured a cracking 45 metre droppie with a leather ball

Oh how things change
-

23/42

But will give myself 24 - as for Major Rage it wouldn't accept "Henderson" .... NZ's most successful test captain ... but it was included in the answers.

Again like Rage am particularly pissed off I missed Hobbs and Whetton, and add in Fred Allen on the oops of course list

I thought I had put Laidlaw in but apparently I missed him ...

Weyhey - cracked the % :)

Don Clarke's record 207 stood for soooo long. Hewie got close and it was talked about each time he played his last 4 or 5 tests. Got dropped for the Dingo after playing poorly in the first test v Aus in 1984. Was always under pressure for his spot - was a frail little fulla. Went from zero to hero in '81 3rd test v Boks after letting the ball bounce and allowing Mordt to score - but then kicking THAT goal. Anyways - 99% of the country (including teenage booboo) were baying for his spot to be taken by Dingo - but I'd have loved to see him take the record.

Massive deal when Stu Wilson got his record equalling 16th try, off a flanker (Kirkpatrick). Was replayed over and over v Scotland 1981

Hewie's 26 points vs Aus was generally thought of as a freakish performance, and I think was a world record at the time. Especially poignant as it came against a top team and featured a cracking 45 metre droppie with a leather ball third test Eden Park 1982. That droppied from a scrum free kick (halfback taps and feeds the droppy taker - not possible now). Didn't Michael Hawker bang one in the same game from his own side of half way? Roger Gould scored in the first minute for Aussie. I thought we were going to get pumped.

Posted these squad ones a while ago. Have only done 1987 and 2011 world cup squads. No amount of money will make me want to do the other RWC squads!

Missed Gear in the 11 (completely forgot he got called in to the squad to hold tackle bags), and same, wouldn't accept any variation of Flynn
