287 on that pitch against that attack? No chance. 1-1 heading in to Boxing Day. Beautiful.

250 seemed even money. 287 is a bridge too far. Will take something ridiculous to get there

The Indian openers remind me of the Black Caps golden era of the mid 90’s.

    The two Blairs?

    ( MN5 visibly shudders typing that )

@nta perfectly timed for when the fox coverage turned up the stump mic muted the commentators for a few balls

You could still hear some giggling from Border in the box though

India should have played Jadeja instead of Yadav.

Lyon's got 7 wickets - the same number as the combined Australian pace attack.

Jadeja can hold a bat, as well.

Indian tail is foolishly long in this game, which allied with their openers being a bit shit, well.....

India has their two most inexperienced players at the crease but yet they could be the two that push the scoreboard along.

It could end up like the 1st test with OZ getting the win after India battle.

The Aussie fans and commentators must be really starved for sledges and agro this summer if we have to pretend that was a remotely clever or funny. Same goes for Kohli telling Paine he is just a stand-in captain - low level stuff.

People are having fun, enjoying a great game of cricket with a bit of mild banter. But thankfully we have rotated on here to bring us all back down - what a relief.

This series is shaping up as the best in years. Looks like we'll have a live Sydney test, which will be something to see.

I hope my family aren't expecting much in the way of conversation after 10:30am on the 26th.

Nothing wrong with a bit of banter but let's not pretend "your captain is a shit bloke" is the sledge of the century. Breaks the first rule of a quality sledge which is that it needs to be a comeback.

Lyon bowling @ 20 so far this series for his 15 wickets.

Quick work this morning could deliver him another Michelle, 10 for the match, and a ridiculous average for 2 Tests.

This bloke doesn't mind his work, either.

This is turning into a cracking series.

Rahul has to go home and I expect they'll bring in a real spinner.

Finch has probably done just enough to stay. Marsh is due a run of single figures - he's not in the form he was four years ago. It's a good thing Australia has such a great bowling line-up.
