Here is the TD play
-
@stockcar86 How the hell did he score that? Ridiculous - weak defence from the Pats
-
Interesting day, Rams, Patriots and Texans all go down. Chiefs win by the skin of their teeth.
Steelers down again as well.
-
@mariner4life are the Steelers fucked now m4l?
3 losses in a row. Does the conference system allow for losing teams to play post season? You know like super rugby does for Australian teams
I'm new to the details in NFL but have gained interest listening to Bill Burr

Possible but unusual I think. The draws are even more lopsided than super rugby though.
You play each team in you division twice (home & away); you play each team in one of the other divisions in your own conference (rotates around each season), each team in one of the divisions in the opposite conference (again rotating) and then each team in your conference that had the same finish in your division (so if you finish last in your division you play the teams that finished last in the other divisions).
So you end up playing 13 of the 31 other teams in the NFL in a given season. So you get a situation like the two New York teams who play each other once every four years (in the regular season). It also means that teams who do badly generally get an easier draw the following year, because you play the other divisional losers.
Strength of schedule is also the first (I think) tie breaker (although like super rugby, division winners automatically get seeded higher than wild cards, so it is common to have a wild card finish 10/6 or even 11/5 while a divisional winner is 8/8 or 9/6 but still has home advantage.

Not quite the same tier as that one, but a nice play from Sam Darnold against the Bills where he ran 46 yards side to side before putting a ball into a tiny window for a TD. Furthest a QB has run before a completion for two years.
-
George Kittle is the new star TE in the NFL - helped the 49ers beat the Broncos 20-14 by racking up 210 yards and a TD which was only five yards short of breaking the record for most yards by a TE in a game (Shannon Sharpe holds the record).
First 49ers TE to also break the 1,000 receiving yards mark too.

Go on a decent run that includes beating the Chargers and the Steelers, then lose to the Niners.... FML
That is a serious day out for any receiving player, let alone a TE (my boy Shannon!)
Did you guys see the two ridiculous passes by Mahomes yesterday? The no-look was incredible, no one does that, and it was right on the money! But that completion scrambling on 3rd-and-nine with the game on the line was unreal. What a player.

Kirk Cousins is now 4-24 vs teams with a winning record.
Vikings are stuck paying him big guaranteed $ for another two years after this.
I think the penny has dropped, he just isn't that good, flatters to deceive

He's decent stats-wise but just isn't a big time QB. In saying that he is better than Case Keenum.

oi!

True but

Cousins and Keenum are in that class of 'middle ground' QBs. They are decent players, and clearly in the top 15-20 QBs in the league. On their day, they are in the top 10.
But the problem is they aren't quite good enough to carry a team deep in the play-offs. They can steer an outstanding team around ala 17/18 Nick Foles and the 15 Broncos-era Peyton, but without that then they struggle.
Throw Mariota in there, Tannehill, Alex Smith. It puts teams in a bind - do they go out and try and draft/pick up a QB who 80-90% of the time is going to be worse than what they have, in the hope of finding that 10% Pat Mahomes guy who IS good enough?
Then you risk becoming the Browns, or the Bears, or the Bills, on this endless cycle of middling QBs.

Agreed. Best description of Cousins I've ever heard is that 'he takes what the defence will give him'. That's great when the defence is giving up stuff but when it's a top team or there's a clutch moment he can't make something himself.

Yeah.. the Seahawks went into the playoffs as #4 seed and a home playoff game with a 7-9 record.. it was quite recent.. maybe in the last 10 years or so
Funny thing is that they won their home playoff game before losing the next week..I can't remember who they beat in wildcard weekend though

Think it was the Saints. That was the game where Beastmode became Beastmode.

Chargers look like they might get a reality check today. Chiefs had the ball twice in the first quarter, and scored twice.

Mahomes is unreal. The passing out of either hand is somethign I have not seen before. The no look pass is something I have not seen before. Remarkable player, worth turning on for.
