Back-to-back Rugby World Cup Sevens champions and Commonwealth Games Gold medallists the Black Ferns Sevens and the All Blacks Sevens, and the world number one ranked All Blacks, are nominated for the adidas New Zealand team of the year while the Crusaders, Auckland and Thames Valley are shortlisted for a new adidas National team of the year award at the ASB Rugby Awards on December 13.
I assume, with "national", they mean "domestic"?

@bovidae Obviously BBBR's try didn't get enough votes. I expect Kelly Brazier's awesome try will win; it was the gold medal winner(CommonWealth Games) and absolutely brilliant.
Don't think the ABs will win this year, and they don't deserve to. Black Ferns 7s should get the NZ team of the year award. Crusaders probably the National team of the year award, although Thames Valley makes a good chance, too.

It should be the easy winner.
Obviously there must have been an online vote at some stage.
While I don't take these awards too seriously I am puzzled with some of the selections. Christie as one of the age group players is taking the piss.

Accomplishments in December will be put forward for the 57th ISPS Handa Halberg Awards.
The 56th ISPS Handa Halberg Awards will be held on Thursday 21 February 2019 at Spark Arena in Auckland and televised live on SKY SPORT from 8.00pm. Other awards presented during the ceremony include; New Zealand’s Favourite Sporting Moment (public vote category), Sport New Zealand Leadership, Lifetime Achievement and inductees into the Sports Hall of Fame.
