@canefan yep. Or as the decades old, familiar black caps dread in the pit of my guts suggests, we're fucked (again)

Pakistan to score 400 and cue another craps batting collapse

The nailed in advertising tablecloths on the field don't exactly scream richest fluffybunnies on Earth

Little bit of dread ease with the score 332 for 6. Lost a drs lb too

We're certainly applying pressure though, pretty specific and tight bowling tactics and one sided fields

Important last hour and a bit on here

333 for 7 now. Taylor with a fine catch

This game is suddenly worth watching again

Raval gone. Here we go, get the women and children to the lifeboats first

Latham capitulated meekly as well. It's going to be a long way back to draw this match

We did well to knock them over and be only 70 odd runs behind, just needed a better opening stand and we'd be in the box seat.

Once again relying on Kane to go big and set them something defendable. We're certainly not out of this yet though.

So Azhar and Shafiq make hundreds and the rest make a hundred between them.

As well as Kane, we're going to need our middle-order to come to the party - Rossco, Nicholls and BJ. Need a lead of 200 to put some pressure on - 250 would be better - more is probably wishful thinking.

Someone needs to buck the trend and make a big score. Raval and Latham showed a disappointing lack of application last night. Having said that the Pakistani bowlers had the ball hopping big time

Time for Rossco ( SGOAT) to show he still has the goods.

It seems like a tidy debut from Somerville with the ball.

NZ probably need to bat for 4 sessions to be safe. No pressure boys.

Roscoe runs down the wicket to defend his first ball from Shah, lovely to watch😀

Meanwhile Shah is the best bowler to get 200 wickets in the history of the world! Some solace for when he gets player of the series.

Kane and Taylor at the crease, always worth watching

Cool, Ross Taylor and CdG changed bodies!

Like some cricket "face off" thing

We're effectively 51/4 - probably about 80 runs behind the game to my mind, given that one of our 4 is Somerville.

Nicholls has made a lot of starts this series, really need him to kick on to a big one.

    Review on Kane.......missing. Phew.

I really rate Reiffel as an umpire, very cool calm & collected. On that note, the DRS system really had done a great job of removing the impact of crap umpires on the game. After a few iterations they've got it spot on.

Doull reckons any lead above 160 is 50/50. I am far less optimistic, I think we'll need 230+ especially without Wags.

I think we'll need 250. However the longer we bat the better. If we make them score the runs late on day 4/into day 5 then we are a shout no matter what the lead is.

    EDIT

Just realised it is day 4 already. I think we are in with a chance. Anyway, these two are looking OK, and there is always CDG to come.

Here for my jinx of Kane like the first innings. 89no now.....

I reckon 200 will be enough to roll them, especially if we can bat time and force most of the chase into day 5.

    @tewaio Yeah - I reckon 200 is a reasonable chance for us.

250 lead is probably going to make the game safe for us, since it would require 400 runs to be scored from now - for us to lose.
