There's reports that there is a high profile former Wallaby on Jake White's coaching team - if I had to guess I would say it would be Glen Ella.

    https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/29/wallabies-weighing-up-white-stuff-report/

RA chief executive Raelene Castle and fellow board members will speak to World Cup-winning former Springboks and Brumbies coach White via a phone hook-up on Thursday to test the waters should they opt to sack Cheika, according to News Corp Australia.

Perhaps as a skills coach he'd add immediate value. His damning assessment of the Wallabies was they didn't have the skills to play anything but direct.

Good test of Krusty’s integrity when he says he doesn’t need this job. His employer is openly canvassing to replace him. Just a touch humiliating.

Only someone with an established reputation like White or a rank outsider would take this role it’s the kind of hospital pass that can permenantly damage your career.

@kiwimurph pretty interesting they are considering sacking him, well openly considering it at least.

Guess they wanna sign someone first, then push him out the door.

Can't come as a surprise, but I still don't see what this will achieve, apart from further damaging their financial position. White won't come cheap and his game plan is remarkably restricted.

@antipodean on the flip side it is a game plan that can be embedded in a short period of time.

And is a game plan at least one RWC cycle out of date. I'd contend that they'd not get out of their pool playing that way.

Appointing jake white one year out from a World Cup ,

That sounds like desperation and panic to me .

they are desperate. the entire ARU model is based on top down. A successful Wallabies will lead to a successful "grass roots". The Wallabies are shit, and there are zero signs of improvement. 2018 started reasonably well, they really pushed Ireland and could have won that series, but the team has been in reverse since then.

A bad 2019, and an early World Cup exit, would be an absolute disaster. And it's a very real possibility.

@mariner4life got an email from the local minis rugby coordinator at Parramatta Western Sydney Two Blues, asking if we were interested in fielding minis this year. Unlikely. And even they admit there is a spiral for district junior rugby out here.

    We're fucked.

Maybe Retallick, Cane and Coles. Of course they would be player coaches.

    Aside from that, no chance

I'd have more credibility if I hosted a podcast episode on "How MacDonald, Coventry, and Halangahu can win next year's Super Rugby championship with the Blues."
