Not unsurprisingly the Browns finally fire Hue Jackson and his OC. Greg Williams is interim HC now (was he an assistant with the 49ers in the Harbaugh era?)

@canefan Gregg Williams was the defensive coordinator with New Orleans Saints during the bounty gate scandal where it became apparent Saints defensive players were getting rewarded with cash for knocking opposition players out - Williams got suspended from the League for a year or two (Sean Payton also got a suspension).

and apparently bonuses for injuries - not just knocking people out! Crossed the line for most NFL players apparently - and in true Browns style, they appoint him head coach. Classic.

sigh, why must the Browns always try to out-Brown themselves?

And Cleveland fans, fuck me, no wonder they love LBJ so much. Without him the City is a barren wasteland of sporting failure. That Cavs Championship in 2016 was their first for sooo long. The Browns last won in '64, and the Indians last won in '48!! Now the Cavs suck again, what do they have?

@mariner4life what's irritating is I enjoyed wathcing them win, and start to come back from the stinking mess they have been.

And now they will probably be a stinking pile of 3-13 again. Suck.

also, they started the first 5 games of the season with all five possible results:
    win in regulation
    loss in regulation
    win in OT
    loss in OT
    draw in OT and regulation

Don't think that will ever be done again!

For the first time ever there has been trades galore at the trade deadline.

NFL trade deadline tracker: Who's been traded?

NFL trade deadline tracker: Who's been traded?

The NFL trade deadline has passed. Here's a rundown of the notable trades that have been completed since the start of the season.

    Some notable trades:
Detroit WR Golden Tate to Philly
Denver WR Demaryius Thomas to Houston
Green Bay trades RB/WR Ty Montgomery to Baltimore and SS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to Washington which some read as the Packers giving up the NFC North to the Vikings and Bears.

I like John Gruden, he seems like a decent guy, and i liked him as a commentator, who obviously knew his shit. And i can see what they are doing at the Raiders.

But holy shit dude, you guys are getting fingered by the Niners, who suck.

The 49ers QB Nick Mullens actually got verified on twitter halfway through the game today. Talk about zero to hero. He can stay starting whilst Jimmy G is out.

Raiders are horrendously bad - I thought the 49ers were bad - I 'm not sure Carr is the Raiders QB this time next year. Gruden did not look happy.

Denver lose to the missed field goal curse.

    Rams finally lose.

Brady and the Patriots just close the book on the whole GOAT talk.

Belichek won that one. Brady stank up the joint for a fair bit of the game, but some inspired playcalling and top notch defence put paid to the Packers.

Hell yeah. Turned it on in Q3, and turned off again. Amazing scoreline.

Good start to the week. Patriots get smashed by the Titans, 34 - 10.

Jags continue to fall. They were one of the SB favorites before the season started, but they've now lost 5 in a row. Could be 6 in a row with the Steelers up next.

Browns get a win over the Falcons.

Eagles lose to a subpar Cowboys.

Eagles are a real chance of missing out on the playoffs after just winning the Super Bowl last season.

Doesn't get any easier for them as they face the red-hot Saints next week.

is it one or two years since they looked to be building an exciting young team that got their fans excited?

They are so shit. Was their best play yesterday the dummy punt after their opening 3-and-out?

Surprisingly good game. Well, I only turned on the fourth quarter. And good in the sense that it was tight. Not good in teh sense that they were like two cripples fighting each other. Seriously poor game sense or management, and Eli doesn' thave the arm power any more.

Still, a comeback win, so I've seen less bad games. Meh.

Raiders pull out a win so 49ers move back into the #1 draft position 😎

Poor Alex Smith's leg got destroyed - that's probably the Redskins done for the season - Cowboys look like they will now win what is an awful division.
