@bovidae I should be ranting about him and Enari, but this is the Blues we're talking about. 😕

Now that Auckland are first and the Blues are last, I wonder if they'll be allowed to use that fancy Ellerslie training facility?

it would be hard to fathom why any New Zealand Super Rugby team wouldn't be interested in talking to Hayne.

Geezus. Surely, NZR won't be tempted to fall for that bullshit and sign a player who's played zero XVs and only wants to be developed at SR level in NZ so he can play for Fiji? I think it's easy to fathom why NZ franchise won't be interested.

nah mate, that'd be like taking a punt on an over the hill Benji Marshall and basing your marketing campaign around it. Before he'd played a proper game of footy.

    .
    Oh.

    FML.

@chris Assuming it's a development deal? His cousin, Ere Enare, is down there (studying at Lincoln?).

I didn't realise Enari was Samoan as well as Maori.

    And god squad as well.

@nzzp although at least Benji, if he was good enough, could have played for the ABs

Rumours about Fletcher Smith going to the Hurricanes seem to be a weird one, the Hurricanes will already have Garden-Bachop for another year next year, and they just signed James Marshall. Unless Garden-Bachop gets a release.

Garden-Bachop signs two-year deal with Canes

@yeetyaah I can see James Marshall playing more Fullback than first five, especially if they give J Barrett a run at 2nd five. Fletcher Smith will be a smart signing, he is just starting to hit his stride.

@tim Not surprised. There's also still a rape trial in the USA he'll have to face (set for January 2020), a not so minor detail the NZH apparently is not aware of.

@tim Fucking miserable bastards - standing in the way of Jarryd's dream.

If they won't help an Australian rugby league player to play for Fiji, just who will they help?

That boy has more dreams than MLK!

@tim Is that the Herald making up a story? Why would any New Zealand Super franchise elect to take a 30 year old Australia with no history in the game?

Pretty sure the seasons are at different times of the year. I can't imagine the players being anyone else.

Interesting on the Allblack site these players not considered for u/20 Development camp in December due to Super Rugby and Sevens commitments Players unavailable for selection due to Super Rugby and Sevens committments: Etene Nanai-Seturo (Counties Manukau), Kaleb Trask (Bay of Plenty), Leicester Faingaanuku ( Ta$man), Billy Proctor (Wellington), Caleb Clarke (Auckland), Scott Gregory (Northland) and Jeriah Mua (Bay of Plenty)
The 50 players have been selected from Mitre 10 Cup, the Jock Hobbs Memorial National Under 19 tournament and New Zealand Secondary Schools team.

I know Procter,ClarkeGregory have SR contracts I wonder if anyone else in that list does ?

@chris thought Gregory had only been offered a WTG/Dev squad one, which you'd think would give them the opportunity to go into the other camps?
