<p>Yes. I listened to the game via radio Eketahuna and they said he played very well. Giving lots of directions, making lots of tackles, stealing the ball etc.</p> -

And the Thames Valley Reserve Prop was utility back, Dean Cummins. I have heard of backs moving to forwards but they usually get Fat first. He held his own too. Geez, I could do a Karl Tuinukuafe at a lower level and be a player of origin for Thames Valley LOL. The Loan player Harry Lafatuanai is a current Melville, ex Te Rapa player so all my mates were putting the Swamp Fox photo on their facebook in support.

I'd noticed Lafatuanai this year and last year on Heartland Rugby TV show (who wouldn't notice a white, ginger with that surname) and thought, geez, this guy is too good for this level surely?
Didn't realise he was a loan player, makes sense why he didn't make the Heartland XV?
Also, this opinion is formed purely on watching the TV show, so just seeing the tries. No idea what the rest of his game is like, I assumed it must be a bit dodgy if he wasn't making the Heartland XV, but being a loan player is a better explanation .....

Alex Bradley is a loan player and has made Heartland hasn't he? Maybe he signed with a local club. He was UMS Colts coach this year and I don't think he played much senior rugby.
Registered with Waihou but didn't play a game for them this season

TV had 2 loan players (Sam Vea from Ham Marist, Harry Lafituanai from Melville). Their player of origin was Connor McVerry (Fraser Tech). Last year that was Brett Ranga.
Sergio De La Fuentue is an interesting story. He's Chilean and had previously played in Northland.

Yes he played at my club (Mid Western) for years, first came across from Chile about 10 years ago. Met a local girl, and that was that.
Played half the season for us last year before moving down there to manage a dairy farm.
Great bloke, bloody stoked for him.
Has also played for the Chilean national team.Also their regular captain this year Shaun Hill played for us for a couple of seasons. He was injured and didn’t play the final.

I enjoyed reading this.
I hadn't realised that De La Fuentue was selected for the Chilean squad to play the Maori but calving duty called. There's also hope for any old, slow backs out there - become a prop.
