@steven-harris who have the Highlanders got at 10?
The only signing that has been announced is that of Gatland.

@allblacksfan72 Squad namings are on 31 October.

@yeetyaah that’s a bloody good question,I asked around today, the source that a got in around Debreczeni seemed reasonably accurate as I had a couple of other bods confirm he had signed with the chiefs..it’s actually now got me even more puzzled especially if Josh Ioane has signed.
That would also mean the chiefs would have Marty Mckenzie,Tiaan Falcon,Josh Ioane and Jack Debreczeni along with D Mac who could play first five.,I do know Debreczeni can play fullback as well. -
@steven-harris Think Marty McKenzie is off contract?

@steven-harris If Tupaea turned down the Blues I can't see him going anywhere but the Chiefs or maybe Highlanders. Surely the Chiefs pick up Tupaea, they need a 12 and he played 12 during school so he'd be a good pick. Will develop well I think.

I go on holiday for a week and now I have to get updated on all the rumours.
On Fletcher Smith, after watching a recording of the Waikato-Northland game last night, and seeing the Otago game, his big work-on has to be defence. His front-on tackling doesn't even resemble a speed bump. I'm happy with the rest of his game though.

This article states that Debreczeni doesn't have a Super contract.

Debreczeni signed a two-year contract with the Northland Rugby Union.
Better luck and body maintenance ensured he survived the rigours of Mitre 10 Cup comp without serious injuries and is heading back to Australia for a break before returning to Northland next year. He's yet to land a Super Rugby contract.
-
@dice might be a case of keeping a his cards close to his chest, the fact that he has signed another 2 x years with Northland would stagger me if he’s just hanging around for a Mitre10 Cup rugby.
Full credit to the guy if he has’nt picked up a super contract and his hanging around -
found this comment amusing:
but his main challenge was getting used to the way the Taniwha players operated.
Fans struggle with how our players operate sometimes
-
@taniwharugby amen to that comment..!.good luck Jack

@nepia ,oh dear the man is now officially living rent free in your head..!
Wait, because I don't think he should have a Chiefs contract if I ever discuss him in a thread when he's brought up then "he's living in my head"? Ok.

Cooper has selected an extra prop (O'Neill), probably because of the uncertainty over Hames and Moli.
As mentioned in the SR thread, I am disappointed for Tucker, who had a great M10 season. Perhaps his injury is serious, or he will be picked up by another team. Hoeata was a permanent food bill this year. I have big hopes for McWhannell.
Sowakula did OK without setting the world on fire but I can understand his selection as a no.8.
Halfbacks - rumours about Roe were unfounded.
1st 5s - Debreczeni's selection rumour was correct. MMac still gets himself a spot though.
Midfield - no Tupaea surprises me. The Chiefs better have him signed though.
Outside backs - great to have Stevenson back and Nanai-Seturo. I don't really consider Wainui a specialist winger as he lacks pace. Moeakiola played for the Sunwolves but I didn't really watch them (apart from the Chiefs game). I would have preferred a NZ player.
