Auckland v Waikato

@stargazer No we haven't but compared to last year we probably would have lost all 3.
-
@nzzp Definitely, much improved from last year. Don't read more in my comment than what it says. All I meant that is that it will be interesting to see where they sit in the comp and that will be better noticeable when Auckland plays a stronger team. I reckon they'll finish quite high, somewhere in the top 3.

@stargazer confidence is a funny old thing...

Semis are the target for this season. A very young side and building nicely. Some future prospects for the Blues too.

Caleb Clarke might need some tackling practice before our next game, he made some awful attempts out there.

Good coaches more to the point.

@african-monkey like 4 missed tackles. I'd bring Ravouvou onto the bench and send Clarke back to U19s.
-
Happy with that. Only just played on Sunday. Bonus point win. Nice.
Semis are a realistic target. Not sure about any further.
One misread in defence aside I was again impressed by Rayasi. He's got some real strike power.
Papali'i again outstanding.
Plummer trucking along just nicely - so much better to watch than Hickey.
-
@african-monkey How many games has he played at Mitre 10 Cup level? Is this his first year? Still a very young lad. Lots of time to improve, but maybe picked for the team too early?
-
@stargazer I think that was his 5th game tonight, he played about the same amount of games for the Blues this season as well. Yeah I think he's been pushed a bit early. I don't really want to say it but from what I've seen, he reminds me of a younger version of Tevita Li. Plenty of hype from schoolboy level running through defences there but struggling to adjust to the big boys stuff and both have very similar power game styles but aren't really big enough to do it at higher levels.
To Tevita Li's credit, he has added a few things to his game (a solid kick being one of them), but still goes straight to ground as soon as he's touched and despite him being very young, I see Caleb Clarke going the same way (I hope to be wrong).

Big shout out to Robbie for getting a double. Well done that man. Defended like a demon too.

Looks like Tuipulotu will be available for the game against Ta$man.
