I'd rather be the Spurs than the Raptors at this point.

I just don't trust Kawhi. He's a weird bloke and I would be worried about team chemistry. At his best he's great but he hasn't been at his best for over a year now.

Not to mention that Spurs players tend to slide when they leave Pop and the Spurs system.

Spurs now get DeRozan for three years, and he seems like the type of player who fits their system and ethos. He'll link well with LMA, too.

Meanwhile the Raptors get one year of Kawhi and then who knows. Although it may set them up for a run at a big free agent next year if it doesn't work out.

Pop on end of Kawhi saga: 'Time to move on'

Pop on end of Kawhi saga: 'Time to move on'

With the Spurs sending Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich says it's "time to move on."

    Class from Pop

Regardless of what happens with Leonard, Toronto won big in that trade. Don't give up their young prospects, get rid of a bad DeRozan contract, get Leonard and also an underrated player in Danny Green.

If the Paul George trade showed anything, it's that a player can be convinced there are other places other than LA. Also sends a message that the Raptors are not shy of pulling out all the stops to win in a very, very weak Eastern Conference.

I'm happy the Lakers waited. They get to keep their young core and if it's not Leonard there will be some excellent free agents next year to pair with LeBron

    Couldn’t agree more.

Yes DeRozan’s contract was attractive for the Raptors to offload, but there is far more uncertainty with Leonard than I think is being said.

Raptors won’t get within the same postcode as the Celtics

Carmelo Anthony has been traded to the Hawks and will be waived. Houston are the front runners to sign him. He can still score but he is diminished, I wonder if he has it in him to play any defence. If not, he is a backward step for the rockets.

@canefan he can play defence against second units but he won’t be there during crunch time. He’s a mismatch dream for point guards.

He still thinks he can play at an elite level. Unless that mindset changes he will be a problem

Once upon a time starred his his own kids movie and now he is the biggest butthurt dufus in the NBA.

Between this and side swiping his former team under the cover what he thought was the anonymity of a fake twitter account he's a really hard person to like. But he is IMO the best 2 ways player in the league if not the outright best player. Yeah I said it.

@raznomore yeah you’ve got to give him credit on how he improved his defensive game since coming to the Warriors. Not just the block shots but positionally now a very good defender.

Anyone got any solid info on when the 2018/19 schedule is announced? All I can find is speculation based on past years' announcements.

Just got an email from the Suns saying their schedule is released in two weeks. Pretty late compared to normal. Maybe it's a generic email that's been going out for a few days already and I only got it last night after I signed up.

The Suns stadium is great. Things looking up for the Suns (can’t go down any further) with Booker’s improvement, their youngsters with a season behind them like Jackson, Bender. Added Ariza and their rookies Deandre Ayton and Bridges are genuine NBA ready players.

@act-crusader yep of course I agree. 30-35 wins would be an OK season for mine. Getting wins in the West won't be easy.

Honeymooning in Texas in February and hoping to work in a game in SA, so hanging for a schedule!

Yep will be going to Austin as well. Flying into Houston but no-one really has anything nice to say about it so will take off to Austin and SA as soon as possible. Only thing about Houston is it might be a better option for taking in a game, schedule dependent.

By the way, the NBA has announced the schedule for week one, Xmas Day and Martin Luther King Day. The full schedule will be announced 10/08 in the US.
