    @chris-b i seem to recall Blair playing some 10 at NPC level and may have even had a game or two for the Highlanders at 1st 5. His natural running game and decent boot was more suited to 15.

    When was that?

    Shit that’s probably a bit close for BOPs liking... No doubt they would have played a heap of young/untested guys, but still.

    On the flip side, great to see Wanganui being competitive.

    @tim I find it hard to answer that question without all squad lists being available, but generally speaking I'll be keeping a close eye on all players that made the NZU20s the last few years. I can probably give you a better answer in 3 weeks.

    My hazy memory says it was around 06 that Evans either didn’t play or got injured and Blair was moved in.

    The Otago Mitre 10 Cup squad has been announced. Strong looking team IMO.

    Japan is draining away a lot of players from the Mitre 10 Cup this season; more than previous years, it seems.

    Always delighted to hear of any 'Poo loss, particularly when it is against Heartland Championship opposition.

    Is the Peni Naibanivalu mentioned as the Wanganui centre the same guy that played second five for Buller for a few seasons?

    @stargazer

    Walden is a big loss but ensures Taranaki’s midfield is still an imposing beast at M10 Cup level. Dillon Hunt off to NH well meh, they have Lentjes who I think has overtaken him anyway this year. Thin at 10 that’s for sure.
