Way hey! good guys win one! Watched till about half time and Crows looked better but behind on the board. Must have managed to kick a couple in the second half. So remain in touch but I think still outside the 8.

    Meanwhile Barry Hall ...
... pretty uncouth. Type of disgusting comment that is uncomfortable even on a stag do ...

West Coast look to be on the slide ,

I reckon they might drop right out of contention ,

Magpies and Power the big improvers , im tipping both of them to make the 4 with swans and Tigers

    Lions!! Huge win in Perth.

Richmond are in a class of 1. Everyone else is fighting to be the beaten grand finalist.

Rest of top 4 looking like Sydney, Collingwood and Port.

Teams who can't challenge but will make the 8. Geelong

Teams who flickered briefly but will at best limp in to the 8: west coast, Melbourne, north.

Teams who have been shit all year hoping to fall in to the 8: hawthorn, gws.

Everyone else is done. Sort of leaning towards two MCG tenants having a home GF in Richmond and Collingwood. Annoying nuffie supporters v bogans. Everybody loses.

So Weagles no chance? Despite being tied on points at 2nd (3rd on %)?

Yeah sure they lost to the Crows doesn't make them useless ... oh hang on ...

On your projection above: Go Tigers! (ABC!)

Steady on you two. Start talking up other clubs. Finals football is a different beast.

Yeah. I was about to post something along the lines that AFL can be quite random.

It's not like rugby where you can depend on a superior forward pack to dominate territory and possession.

A close game can swing on a random bounce of the ball.

I'm not counting my Crows out yet.

But think you may need to be top 4 come finals to give yourself the best chance of winning.

Pretty hard to win from outside the top 4 ,

you would have to be on an almighty roll of form ,beat the best teams in the comp more than likely interstate , in consecutive weeks

The crows are a broken side. The weagles have fallen in a hole.

I wouldn't watch richmond v Collingwood. Fuck that.

Wait i just checked the ladder. Adelaide are cooked. A win outside the 8 with the worst percentage of the teams around them. Would take a run of form to get there.

Plenty would though , be massive , the two clubs with the largst supporter base , that have nasty history of hating each other for 100 years

without a doubt, Melbourne would be heaving, two huge supporter bases on GF day.

Just quietly, the Lions have won three on the bounce, and only one of those was a gimme. Beating Freo in Perth and Hawthorn is Tassie are big results. And we've got the Crows in Brisbane this weekend, who now know they have to front up to get the points.

Still pretty close throughout the ladder. Top 4 far from sealed, and spots in the 8 up for grabs as well. Collingwood losing at the 'G to West Coast of all teams is a big blow for them.

I think the Dees have now won three in a row as well which has stopped the rot of the previous couple of weeks. Phew.

yep, it looked a little shakey on the weekend, but then they murdered the Dogs. I hope they go well in the finals, when they are on they play great football. Gawn is such a gun.

They are only a win from jumping to 3rd, their percentage is huge. Not an easy draw though, with Geelong, Adelaide, Sydney and West Coast in the next 5.

Roos certainly assembled a bloody good list before he left. Tough run in from the sounds of it but should still maintain a spot in the 8 and we could beat anyone on the day after that.

Mate of mine is a lifetime melb supporter and he doesn’t speak to kindly about them .
Reckons they are good at bullying the lower sides and fold against the better sides .
Have yet to win a game this year against a top 8 side he tells me

@kiwiinmelb shit that's actually true! Although both North and Adelaide would be in the 8 if Melbourne hadn't beaten them.

They've had a soft draw by the look of it, they haven't played 3 of the 8 at all yet. They could easily finish 10th.

Most damning is them losing to St Kilda.

@mariner4life his words not mine ,
He says they need a big scalp to convince him , reckons when the heat goes on they go missing.

I guess the next month will show us

The fading Cats, Adelaide away, Sydney, West Coast and GWS will certainly tell them exactly where they are at. They could easily only beat Gold Coast and finish on 11 wins.

Considering the talent they have all over the field, they should be playing finals this year. Realistically though, 12 wins probably gets you 8th (especially with a % of 130+) so they only need to win one other game (assuming GC is a lock).

Dees will find it even tougher without Viney for up to a month. Big Max is playing well though.
