I now get ads on the forum. Is this by design? Happy to click through if it generates funds
I haven't made any changes to that
Is that just on the categories page?
Odd. At bottom of Categories page but also at top of Sports Talk page if I click through from Categories. Seems to disappear after that.
Not an issue at all, just hadn't seen ads after logging in before. -
It looks like comments are showing on the front page if you use thesilverfern.com, but not if you use www.thesilverfern.com
That's a problem for tomorrow..

@duluth more than happy to donate if a bit more is ever needed. Thanks for all the background work you fullas do.
Thanks, we appreciate the offer
We'll see where we are at in a couple of months. Maybe we will pass the cap around at that time.
My preference would be that we cover costs from ad revenue. I would prefer it if people 'donate' by creating content that we can put ads on.
Then the admins benefit by covering costs and the users benefit by having something interesting to read/argue about -

I think I have this working now

Not a problem, just wondering: comments under a blog article show the most recent comment at the top, and the oldest comment at the bottom. In the forum threads, it's the other way around (my preference). Is that the design, or a setting people can change?

My browsers say the website is "unsecure"...should I worry...???

Are you sure it didn't say 'Insecure'? A few posters on here may cause that.

Any chance this update will improve the chances of the Blues winning now..

When I send the unread page to home on android it still seems to open to the home page. Any ideas?
Does it open the home page with the 404 message on it? That would mean its still pointing to thesilverfern.com/unread instead of forum.thesilverfern.com/unread
Maybe a cache issue?

I'm quite proud of myself that I worked that out all on my lonesome
