@canefan I think Mitchell will end up being an all time player. He has no ceiling just need to stay healthy. In my opinion he is the closest thing I have seen to MJ in sometime. A friend reckons hes Wade 2.0 as well.
There is a lot of D Wade in Mitchell’s game. Got the swag too.
Aussie Joe had a great game and showed his class during crunch time.
Gotta say that OKC got way too 3 happy in the close out of that game. Lost their composure a bit IMO. There was plenty of time to go to the basket and then play the foul game.
Big no-call on PG, but the fact they didn’t foul until 6 seconds left was also very costly.

Definately the former.
Melo is a shadow of his former self who can't guard anyone. In a league that covets two way players he is a luxury the Thunder can't afford to have on the floor, hence him sitting the fourth quarter. With the $28M for next season I don't see another team picking up the cheque but you never know, he doesn't strike me as a guy who leaves money on the table. I am unconvinced that PG can be a consistent big time guy, even though he was very good in Indiana. Adams had a pretty good series, gave them enough second chance attempts to win game 6, and when he got into foul trouble his absence was felt. I just don't think the Thunder have enough knock down shooters at the moment, and the way the offense is constructed at the moment relies too much on Russ with the ball. Part of that probably is him too but the other guys need to step up and demand more ball by scoring and showing they deserve it

Another team doesn’t have to pick up the tab necessarily.
If Melo is unhappy and Donovan says you’re basically going to get squat minutes, they might come to terms like the Bulls did with D Wade.
D Wade had the massive player option that the Bulls paid out about 2/3rds and then he went to the Cavs on a minimum contract. Of course that went to custard given the Cavs had about 50 guards on their roster, but it could be the best thing for both parties.
Melo might dig heels in and want that $28 though!

I agree with everything regarding a buyout. I think we agree that Melo will probably be unwilling to leave money behind, after all he sat and rotted in NY for some time before he got out, and even then I don't think it was at a discount

The OKC situation was sad, because on paper it should have worked. Russ is the player who needs the ball and controls the game, PG13 can play 3-and-D as well as anyone with the occasional big game, while Carmelo could be the wise old guy who can spot up. Add in a cast of decent bench players and you've got a team with just as much talent as any.
But it just never worked, and never looked like working. Even if they rallied to beat the Jazz, they would have been flogged by the Rockets.
Donovan isn't good enough, IMO. They can't afford to buy out Carmelo, so they will have to try and extract something from him next year. You'd be tempted to just go back to Russ-ball and hope he can carry them to 50 wins.
PG is likely going to the Lakers, and I think he showed enough in the first four play-off games to show he still has value. He can't carry a team though. I'd love to see him as third banana on the Sixers, playing the Covington role behind Simmons and Embiid.

I don't think it's certain that PG leaves OKC. Reading some comments he and Russ are very close, but he wants to know what direction OKC will be going in before making a decision.
As to Donovan, he hasn't really improved them after they fired Scott Brooks.

Rockets/Warriors is $1.01 in the West. And the winner of that is $1.05 to take out the whole shebang.
But in the East you could make a case for all four teams to come out, even the Celtics. Lebron single-handedly dragged the Cavs into the second round, but how often can he keep doing that?

Sixers struggling with the Celtics in Game 1. A lot of people have written off Boston, but I think they are right in this series.
The weight of favouritism will hit Philly at some point, and Brad Stevens is a gun. I can see this series going the distance.

If they don't win game 2 and win it well they might bottle it
