have to think there wont be many upset that s/he has gone out this way.
Nope , its only a matter of time till someone gets badly hurt by a tranny in a contact sport. My guess is wrestling or mma.
Or Friday night on Courtney Place.
That guy that dances outside what was the Electric Blue, I saw him/her go ape at someone who tried to dance with him/her
Electric Avenue, it's not named after an Icehouse song.
Yeah that bloke was an interesting fella.
Electric Avenue was an Eddie Grant song. Electric Blue was Icehouse
The refugee all stars also did a great version of Electric Avenue

I turned on the TV last night to watch some ANZ ads and the occasional footage of the Tall Blacks game. Fark, I'm glad TVNZ is getting plenty of criticism for their pathetic coverage. I saw one lift from Liti and nothing from the squash while waiting for the shot put final. I ended up following the updates via Stuff.
If it was on their OD channels how about advertising it? Meanwhile we get a hockey game and boxing bout not involving any NZers. Watch the netball? No chance!
-
@Bovidae yup, I turned it on last night and listened to Sam the weatherman wanking on about how great beach volleyball is for 5 minutes, and then they cut to the basketball 2 minutes into the match. It's a bloody shambles, and yes they don't advertise the Online stuff at all - all Toni talked about was the alternate channel on T.V.
As much as I dislike Sky, they do a fucking way better job of covering sports than anyone else.

She must have mentioned at some point that the squash was on their internet channel, because I went and found it. Was the first time last night I'd heard that they had a third channel tucked away among Sky's sports channels (59 I think). Previously, she'd just mentioned there was a freeview channel 14.
In any case, when people are whingeing about Sky I always think they should be careful what they wish for. Not that I care a great deal about Premier League football, but a few years ago you could watch it on Sky as part of the sports package. Then it was ripped away by those internet characters and now it's apparently back on those Bein pay channels.
Streaming still doesn't seem to work flawlessly and it's particularly shit at my place.
Christ knows what viewing the RWC is going to be like and who they'll have commentating.

IF that is the way forward (Streaming rugby and sports I like) then I am going to save a fair bit of money as our internet is hopeless out in the sticks.

Unfortunately where I was last night didn't have Sky so I was restricted to Freeview channels. I'm not interested in listening to the "hosts" so push the mute button until sport is shown but a simple real-time on-screen graphic informing you which live event was on each channel would have done the trick.

After the Commonwealth games I’m looking forward to not having Toni Street or Sam the Weatherman inflicted on me again for a very, very long time.
Between forcing their “media celebrity” drivel on us and incessant poorly timed ad breaks, TVNZ should give themselves massive uppercut.

They are fucking aweful, reminds me why I avoid TVNZ 1 or what ever the fuck it’s called.

I did not realise Hamish Bond took up cycling. What an athlete.
-
The coverage leaving plenty to be desired.
The host broadcast fucked up the second checkpoint timing, so for a large part of the race no-one had any idea of how far Tanfield and Meyer were ahead of Bond (we had to make do with the assurances of the Australian commentators that he was bound to win by at least a minute) - no coverage of Meyer riding the beast, because we were away having a canned interview with Villumsen. Bibby apparently had a mechanical - but, we were heading to an ad break....
-
The coverage has fucked me off both because of the ads and cutaways at the worst possible time, but also the interviews make me CRINGE. The questions are vapid, and so often (especially from the newer athletes) you can see on their faces WTF is this shit? The more experienced ones can bland it out. But last night with Tom Walsh, and the interviewer basically ordering him to thank NZ...that was just gross.

Something happened with Bond also - interference by a motorbike or something? I saw a mention of that on the Stuff live blog.
Yeah - Cam Meyer's brother ran him off the road and held him down for 30 seconds.
I think they said the motorbike disturbed some road cones. Would only have needed to slow Hamish up a few seconds to shift him from silver to bronze.
Edit: "Bond had a brief frustrating moment before the halfway stage when he was impeded by an official on a motorbike - who was trying to avoid a team car which had pulled over - and then almost immediately after had to avoided a road cone that had fallen into his path."
