Blues v Sharks

@kirwan half the team were playing touch last night...as for his selection issues, these have been contentious since he started at the blues having his faves and playing them ahead of better players.
Blues problems start with him but they are much deeper than just him...the 9-10 axis is another big problem too, but then that is nothing new.

You should be sweet for a win this weekend though, you've only got the severly depleted Chiefs!
Seriously though,I am a bit annoyed at the timing of this result as I can see them coming out quite hard against us to prove a point.
I am hoping your lot just roll over and say tickle my tummy like they did against the sharks

Super coach will play Reiko at 10, bench Akira and make Collins captain. You could bet your house on a Chiefs win.
I repeat, he’s the worst coach we’ve ever had and we’ve had some shit coaches.

Haven't read all the above but went to the game and have only just got over the disgrace that I witnessed and are in a position to be able to post. A few thoughts...
Perofeta - is farkin rubbish. Kicks woefully in open play and generally very poor at option taking. Even my 8 year old son could see how bad he was and made comments at numerous times that they should bring on a proper 10 like Gatland.
Option taking in general - not sure why we weren't taking the kicks at goal early in the game. I thought it must be due to Perofeta being shithouse from the tee but he managed a couple of nice conversions so think it must have been something else. The Sharks though were ruthless when given the opportunity. De Preez knocked them over every time when given the chance.
Tackling - seemed optional, potentially even discouraged? Wtf was that all about.
Crowd - very low turnout even with free kids entry but understandable given easter long weekend and many away. Had the family in the lounge with me and pretty sure the only thing that kept us there was the quality beer battered fries and the cold drinks. I ended up putting the warriors game on the skygo and miss 5 ended up playing on the wifes phone and managed to order some pizzas playing what she called 'Pizza Game' but was actually the hells pizza app. Luckily a phone call saved that disaster!
Also, can someone remind me where Duffie is at? Must be injured or something?

If he can't turn it round this weekend and has another humiliator, surely he will be too proud and resign? Surely?
and by a humiliator, I mean lost to us by around 30-40 points.

I doubt it, if you don't resign after shipping 63 points on Eden Park when else would you?

This is what the Sharks did to the Blues - after getting spanked by the Rebels the week prior.
Tana on the other hand said the Blues focus was on starting better and not letting the opposition get away to big early leads....the result: a 26-7 halftime lead to the Sharks.

@kiwimurph he was pretty slow with his changes too, the ones he shold have made either at half time or soon after he didn't make until about 60 mins.

Ok lets have a bet. I bet the Chiefs win.
I think the Chiefs should beat the blues but would not be gobsmacked if there was an upset

I would be. I can't see, given history, how this squad and their management can turn this listing, burning wreck around in time to avoid smashing into the jagged reef before them. If anything, they've steered towards it and asked Scotty for more power.

Which is pretty sad really. If it was a team like the highlanders or chiefs, you could kind of understand but for a Auckland team it is pretty hopeless.

I'm sure you're crying yourself to sleep every night over this
Don't get me wrong, it is class A comedy for the richest 'club' to suck the most.
Thing is you have been hopeless for so long and everyone is still blaming the current coach..... That's hilarious. Yes he is hopeless but he isn't the Blues problem. He was put there by the problem

Yep, this.
IF a coach is bad, no worries. If all coaches are bad, check the board and front office. The administrators of the Blues are shambolic,a nd I have not seen anything to improve my view of that. Our talent scouting, pathways and general competence is horrific.
People blamed Tana, they blamed JK, they blamed Pat Lam, they blamed whoever the fark was there before them - but ultimately the rest of the framework blows. Under central contracting, there is no benefit to being in Auckland. No extra money, loads of extra costs. Why the hell would you live there as a Super player?
A new coach will not fix these issues.

It's remarkable that the NZRU hasn't stepped in long ago to sort out the Blues. They're their biggest and highest income market. Basic business incompetence not to execute in your biggest market.
Even though Super Rugby is treated as a cash cow and a training ground for the ABs, they should be able to achieve that basic element of competency.
