@tim Good on RTS for sticking with league.
The solutions for NZ Rugby are not with poaching from the Warriors who desperately need every decent player they can get - but, in convincing their counterpart unions to develop their own club players instead of stealing ours.
A bit odd they'd go after him anyway. Fullback isn't a position we're particularly short of candidates.

@chris-b not surprised that if they were trying to entice him across, that Steve Hansen woulda been involved, but I'd be surprised if there was any formal offer (as in if you sign you will be an AB on the EOYT) rather an introduction and look at how things are done and what would be expected of him if he had plans on making the ABs.

No news on Kiri Kiri yet.
Lukhan Tui (Reds) suspended for 3 weeks
Queensland Reds lock Lukhan Tui has joined his captain and fellow Wallabies forward Scott Higginbotham in copping a three-match suspension from Super Rugby. Referee Brendon Pickerill issued a yellow card to Tui for a lifting tackle on Will Genia during the first half of the Melbourne clash on Friday, which the Rebels won 45-19. Tui was later cited and that was upheld on Tuesday by the three-man judicial committee chaired by Michael Heron QC. "The judicial committee deemed the act of foul play merited a low end entry point of six weeks due to an absence of intention and other contributing factors," Heron said in a Sanzaar statement on Tuesday night. "However, taking into account mitigating factors including the player's excellent disciplinary record and his guilty plea at the earliest possible opportunity, the judicial committee reduced the suspension to three weeks."

I agree with @taniwharugby re Hansen being involved but questions for me are:
- Who approached who?
- How much was the offer?
Leaguies painting it as a "win" but I suspect it had as much to do with higher guaranteed dollars for a longer term.
I'd have been happy if he returned from the dark side but wouldn't have been offering Ben Smith money.

The Blues flanker Antonio Kiri Kiri has been suspended for one Super Rugby game following two incidents in last weekend's match against the Highlanders in Dunedin.
I find this interesting; didn't know that rule:
Kiri Kiri was yellow carded in the 53rd minute for a dangerous tackle of Highlanders first five Lima Sopoaga. Following the match he was cited for a separate incident involving a potential charge of Striking with the Head. Kiri Kiri was issued with a warning from the Judicial Committee in regards to that incident. The rules state that a yellow card and a warning from the same match equates to a sending off and therefore he gets an automatic one match suspension.

@booboo not even sure if he would have cut the mustard,in my opinion he’s very suspect defensively and under the high ball..
really? that's a pretty big call. My early thought was he would have been the right wing pretty quickly.

Be interesting to see if the Sunwolves can get up this weekend. Rebels were dire last week and in pre-season.
it was a shit game, but they hammered the rubbish Reds. The Sunwolves aren't better than the Reds.
-
@mariner4life They looked shit even for the first 15 or so minutes after the Reds were red-carded. They didn't look comfortable until the Reds were carded again.
Their win over the 14-man Reds meant nothing.
The Sunwolves are better than the 14-man Reds.

No one pointing out how bad the Brumbies looked?
-
@african-monkey and a well regarded coach.

@tim Geez, another one of their AB forwards injured.
It won't happen, but I'd find this the perfect opportunity to shift Taufua to openside and see how he does in the 7 jersey. I don't think he has ever played there, though, so they won't risk it.
