Crusaders vs Chiefs
-
Cane and Boshier doing heaps out there. Brodie throwing himself about too. We’ll run out of gas.
Having said that, the Saders just brought on King, so there’s a class problem in both teams.
-
Weber is the second best halfback so far this weekend.
-
Fuck Fa’auli (sp.?) is useless. What’s his run meters? Put ALB at 12 and find a 13...
TNW time

Shoulder charge v swinging arm? The only thing that saved him was the refs call on tackled player ducking
Higgers tackled him high and kept a neck roll to pull him to the ground. That's equal to the swinging arm.
I wouldn't have given Higgenbotham a red either - just a yellow and a lengthy ban.
Isn't head contact insta-red? Reckon higgers would have gone without the head roll, that was just him putting the icing on the cake
-
Nice work from 12 and 13. Good try.
-
Good try, whitelock had plenty to do.
-
Chiefs hanging in there, but I suspect the saders still have enough to close this game out

Cane, what a fucking tackle.
One of the few things you can pre-type and know it will be relevant.
-
26-23 and the chiefs are hanging in there.
-
That was some stupid shit from Ta’avau.
-
Four of the best locks in the country and two good hookers but the lineouts have been terrible.
-
If Alaatoa is a red because ducking doesn't matter - that has to be a Yellow card and penalty try.
-
If defender isn't there it is a try - clear penalty try.
-
That will have to be 10 I guess?
-
Penalty try?
-
That opens up nearly every tackle on the line for a penalty try now.
-
Wow.
Ok, but I’m not so sure that I like watching rugby anymore.
-
Moral of the story; dive low at the line.
-
These head high rules are fucking the game.
Initial contact was with the shoulder, the player was going low to score a try, how the fuck else do you tackle him?
-
Go fuck yourself. That's deplorable. Rugby is dead.
-
What nonsense. If ducking makes you untackleable then it is impossible to tackle a diving player before the line.
Blind doctrine.
For me not even a penalty.
-
So how the hell is he supposed to stop the try, just let him score if he is diving for the line. Garbage rule needs to change.

Another to add to the list....fall or jump into tackles.
Score?
-
@taniwharugby 33 23 after the penalty try
-
The rules are there for safety purposes but I fear every game I am going to be watching this year is going to have problem in and around high tackles which is going to hugely influence results.
-
Well that is two games that I have seen so far where these calls are ruining the game. Penalty try and yellow card?
-

If you want to bring that into then, I thought Boshier would have got the diving defence, attacker was diving so, so reduced to no penalty.
-
Thats fucked. Lead with your head and youre untouchable
-
P.S. A great game rendered a futile exercise by overzealous official.
Very 21st century.
-
I was settling in to watch the Tahs v Stormers just because it’s some rugby, but I can’t be fucked now.
Decent game ruined.
-
Might as well play tiddly winks..!
-
RC for Taimanivalu?
-
Fucking McKenzie.
-
Well deserved win to the Saders as it turns out.
The Saders should be one of the better sides, but it looks like it is going to be a long year for us.
-
Wait, the shit barrett didn't drop that? Jesus...
Patriots indeed.
-
Ive lost count of how many errors DMac has made tonight.

Forceful contact with the head, it should have been.
Who cares that M Mac almost fell into his knee, ‘falling tackler’ isn’t a defence these days.
Who cares that it was purely accidental, contact with the head is contact with the head.Come on refs stick to the rules.

Fucking McKenzie.
Chiefs fans will get used to saying that too now he's their first choice five-eighth.
-
No question the better side has won this evening,
but all you ever ask for consistency from the officials, having watched all 4 x games..inconsistency in around the high tackle interpretation is already creating confusion for supporters and viewers. -

Except Steven that the laws aren't there for safety mate, they're primarily there to appease social and mainstream media, lest they lower rugby's appeal to corporate sponsorship.
These administrators and lawmakers have made a pigs breakfast of the game since the last WC and their sole objective has been to placate social justice fuckwits who'd never travel to a game rather than the people who actually "own" and love the game.
If you're fair dinkum about player welfare, then you start by decreasing the games played, not try to micro manage every fucking collision.
That yellow and penalty try make the game barely recognisable, and random as a legitimate contest.
A pox on them all
