This is not playing out how I thought. Nick Foles is on fire. 340+ yards and 3 TDs as the Eagles cruise to victory.

Is the Philly defence as good as Jacksonville's? What a story it would be if Foles could win all the chockies

Vikings is #1, Jacksonville #2, Eagles maybe #4?

Only difference is that the Eagles is a more complete team.. Eagles overwhelming favourites for a Superbowl win..

No such thing against NE. Last time the Eagles made the big game it was 2004 against..... the Patriots, who won. The last time they won it all was Dick Vermeil's team in 1980!!!

How much money would James Harrison need to stand on Brady's throwing hand?

    More new head coaches confirmed

    • Mike Vrabel (Texans defensive coordinator and former Patriot player) to Titans

    • Steve Wilks (Panthers defensive coordinator) to Cardinals

    • Pat Shurmur (Vikings offensive coordinator, former Browns head coach*) to Giants

*Quick note - Pat Shurmur's 9-23 record for the Browns is a lot better than Hue Jackson's current 1-31 record with the Browns. As an aside the Browns have hired loose cannon Todd Haley as their offensive coordinator (this year's Steelers offensive coordinator).

That leaves the Colts and the Lions with both expected to confirm hiring Patriots assistants once the Super Bowl is over, Josh McDaniels (Colts) and Matt Patricia (Lions).

Alex Smith traded from the KC Chiefs to the Washington Redskins. I don't know much about their team but I hope they have a strong running back because Smith needs significant help on offense

@canefan the rumoured length is for a 4 year contract extension for Alex Smith (currently has 1 year left) and the rumoured trade price is a 3rd round pick and a player. Seems pricey and quite a lengthy commitment for a QB at Smith's stage in his career.

Just saw this on twitter. Wow, I had Alex Smith going to Buffalo (Buffalo has picks and cap space, plus a good running game). Washington is a bad place for him to be going.

So the teams out of the 2018 QB hunt are San Francisco (Jimmy G), New Orleans (Brees) and Washington (Smith).

Potential QBs to hit the market or available via trade: Case Keenum, Eli Manning, Tyrod Taylor, Blake Bortles, Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Bradford.

Teams that are looking for serious upgrades, or short term help while they develop a drafted QB, are Cleveland, Buffalo, Denver, Minnesota, NY Giants, Arizona and potentially Jacksonville and Miami.

Smith can't carry a team, and WSH is a bad team. Maybe this was the best deal he could get, maybe he didn't have much choice. Buffalo could have done with a competent game manager like Smith. Maybe they'll be poking around for Keenum but Smith has runs on the board

Smith will be laughing to the bank with a 70 million guarantee.

Kirk Cousins will be available now though. Looking at his recent interview he wants a team with a chance of win, good receivers and a good line. (not asking for much then...). Jags might be the best fit on those criteria. Will he take less money to be at a better team?

I can see the Jets, Browns and Bills getting into a bidding war for him. Jets and Browns have early draft picks though so might be more inclined to go that route than throw what will be a massive deal at Cousins

Redskins have basically dumped him though, and surely that will make others nervous. They have the best view in the league and thought Smith was better value. What do they know?

WSH are a dumpster fire, I'm not sure they know anything. If Smith has 70M guaranteed good on him for taking that deal. But I remember what he was like in his early years in a rudderless 49ers team; I know he has improved greatly, but it's gonna suck playing for a shit team again. All he can do is bite his lip and remember

@cyclops I'm picking Cousins will sign with Jacksonville and challenge Bortles for the starting position. He's already made a ton of money thanks to Washington franchising him for the past few seasons.
NY Jets will draft a QB but keep Josh McCown as their starter for next season.
NY Giants will make a play for Case Keenum since his offensive co-ordinator is now head coach.
Minnesota have a strange crush on Teddy Bridgewater so he will probably be their starter next season.
Denver will get Eli Manning because of the good ol' boy club but it could work.
Arizona will probably end up with a Sam Bradford or Tyrod Taylor as their short-term answer.
I can see Miami selling the bank and acquiring Nick Foles only to see him fail.
Cleveland will draft and play some poor kid who will end up being a bust through no fault of his own.

There are no guarantees in the NFL (look at Carolina) but JAX could be scary good with a half decent QB. A top FA wanting to go to JAX? Unheard of a couple of years ago
