7 overs of cdg and the required rr goes down from 7 to 4.4

50 off 25 balls for CDG, basically taken the game away from the Pakistanis.

Pakistan give up to easily. Last chase they allowed us to win with singles to outfielders with only an over to spare. This game they gave up with 40 runs still to get. Why do they still have the field spread?

I know they're a slim hope but I'd be a bit annoyed if the BCs didn't fight to the very last ball.

In saying that, they didn't bank on an innings like that from cult hero de Grandhomme! I thought we were up the creek when Kane went but he's just hit us home with ease.

Credit to Nicholls too, under pressure he's read the game well and kept his head. We were always going to get home provided we kept wickets in hand.

Virg was clearly being sarcastic in his previous post. The amount of wank from him all year on the BCs has been sensational!

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve had a real evenly matched topsy turvy game like that. It was really in the balance there after our top order collapse, and then when Kane got out when he did.

Munro’s wicket, we’ll thats going to happen with him.

Guptill’s was fucking dumb, just chipping to long on a couple of balls after Munro went.

CDG will deservedly get the accolades for his match winning knock, but equally important were Kane and Nicholls efforts. If one of them went early, we would have been right in the poo.
Nicholls I think has won me over with that knock, I’ve always been a bit of a doubter, but big ups to you lad. Equally as much of a match winning innings in my eyes.

CDG showed us just how important he is though, to have someone in the lower middle order who can destroy an attack like that is a must have!

Latham needs runs, he’s got some of those young fullas breathing down his neck...

Jesus - de Grandhomme has some power. Hits the ball as hard as anyone in the game.

Wouldn't surprise me if he does pretty well in the IPL auction - he and Munro are both worth watching there.

Don't know how much credit Craig McMillan deserves, but we've developed some useful batsmen on his watch.

Agree on Tom Latham - it's hard to see quite what his role is with the bat - insurance if both Kane and Rossco fail? I'd tend to think we'd be better off pushing Nicholls up to five and playing a wicket keeper with a bit more power - which Blundell and Seifert both seem to have.

Only downside with that is that neither of our test openers will be playing much international cricket.

The other thing with CDGs innings, yep he was brutal, but he was also sensible. Didn’t try and over do it.
    Impressive.

Sounds like Nicholls played the anchor role really well after the much vaunted top four were all in the shed. Great to see, not everyone needs to put it over the rope constantly.

It would have been good if Taylor had got some runs in his 200th ODI. A win is the next best thing.

With this innings, we now have 5 of our top 7 with averages of 40+
Kane, Taylor, Guppy, Nicholls and CdG..

Will be interesting to see how long the latter 2 last with a 40+ average..

Fucker Fakhar looking to play some shots...

I have been waiting for a Shadab Fakhar partnership.

Would be best delivered by Richie Benaud to Shane Warne but many combinations would work.

How often do you think Warnie quoted lines from Austin Powers when he was rooting Elizabeth Hurley?

Nothing's changed. We would need to be at our peak best performance and would still require one of the big boys like oz to have a bad day

Concur. I still think the '03 and '07 teams were better if just because Bond was marginally more reliable as a wicket taker than Boult (when fit) & Vettori has not been replaced as an economic metronome - plus we batted much deeper.

We still remain a get to the semi final and see what happens team.

Gee Boult is a little frustrating at times isn't he? Seems to either get unreal results or no result.

Bond was way better than Boult is.

We’re batting, off to a fast start.
    Munro just gone for 34.

    52/1 from 6 overs.

Pass mark for Munro, has generated a run rate to allow Guppy and Kane to get themselves in.
