Yeh, the rookies for the Saints have been awesome.. and they look good for the next 3-4 years..

    @sneakdefreak said in NFL 2017:

Also, congratulations to the Cleveland Browns on going 0-16. A great achievement for the organisation and I can see why they have kept the head coach (he'll get fired soon enough). Cleveland has the first pick in the draft but also the fourth pick (via Houston). They'll fuck it up though.

One has to wonder how Caldwell (18-14 in the last two seasons with a playoff appearance) gets let go, and Jackson (1-31 in the last two seasons) still keeps his job.

Raiders fire their coach Jack Del Rio.

It sounds like Jon Gruden is going to be the new coach of the Raiders.

He's been linked with job openings in the NFL and college every offseason but this time it looks like the real deal. It is certainly a positive PR move for a franchise going into the last year in a city before relocating.

That's probably what it is: Gruden in 2018 and 2019 and then a young understudy takes over. Gruden gets offered a job in the Raiders front office for life.

I expect a lot of teams will try and copy San Franciso and LA Rams and go for young first-time head coaches. I expect a lot of teams to fail badly.

@sneakdefreak I agree - last year seemed like a much stronger crop of coaches (Shanahan, McVay, McDermott and Marrone)

    Bills fans are awesome

Bills fans by the thousands are expressing their thanks to the Cincinnati Bengals for helping end Buffalo’s 17-year playoff drought by together donating more than $170,000 so far to the charitable cause of Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton.

For Kraft, Brady and Belichick, is this the beginning of the end?

For Kraft, Brady and Belichick, is this the beginning of the end?

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft are aiming for a sixth Lombardi trophy. But friction between the coach and star QB could put the future of a dynasty in doubt.

True or not it's an interesting tale about the most successful franchise of this generation

@canefan brilliant read. There was something very strange about the Jimmy G trade. SOMETHING has gone down.

It's like Beli has decided 'fark it I'm out of here' and sold his prized QB successor under duress for what amounts to a pittance

I'm just glad he chose the 9ers as the recipient of his charity!

I don't think they had any other choice..
You cant trade to anyone in the AFC.. So you transfer him to a team in the NFC where you will only meet them once every 4 years, or in the Superbowl
Most NFC teams have their QB.. And with the 9ers with a poor start, Pats were looking at a high 2nd round pick.. But Jimmy GQ put a stop to that

It's probably the first trade in the Brady era where the Pats, in the long term, will regret they ever made it.... but the Pats are aiming for this season and next, we all know that. Then Brady will retire and I assume so will Beli. And then the Pats will suck for a long time. And then the rest of the AFC East will be finally free.

I wonder if, in the event the Pats win the SB again, Bill decides to walk away knowing that Kraft chose the Golden Boy over his process?

What a game. The Titans looked buried after the 1st half and now they've taken the lead in the 4th.

Mariota has taken over this 2nd half. The KC defense has basically been on the field all half.

Pats won't have to worry because somehow KC has lost to the Titans 22-21....

I'm a supporter of Alex Smith but he choked in this game which forced the KC defence to stay in for most of the second half. Expect him to be traded to either Denver, Jacksonville, Buffalo or possibly Minnesota.

Think Andy Reid could be gone too.

Alex Smith QB Andy Reid coach is not a combo you want if you want to win playoff games.

Poor Chiefs fans - the Chiefs 6th straight home playoff loss dating back to 1995.

AFC is rather weak - neither team looked a geniune title threat - cool win for Mariota and the Titans though - might have saved Titans coach Murlarkey is job.

Falcons lead Rams 13-10 at the half. Raiders confirm that Jon Gruden is their new(ish) head coach.

The more experienced Falcons beat the LA Rams 26-13 to advance to face the QB-less Philadelphia Eagles. The road to the Superbowl is looking a little easier for the Falcons.

Here's hoping that Matty Ice finds redemption in the SB game by beating the evil empire Patriots 😉
