Fatbusting: MvJ's log (a blob's blog)
-
If anyone is wondering why I am cranky it is because I could not sleep last night and was obliged to remedy this by hitting the bottle. Unfortunately I over-corrected. <br />
<br />
My secretary woke me up with a 10am telephone call, and the pounding in MvJ's head meant a day off work. <br />
<br />
The early morning exercycle session went out the window and I slept until 3pm. The run tonight is similarly off the menu. -
Miller, being the self-appointed moderator of this entire fat-busting section, you have a responsibility to all of us to continue to work hard and often on your weight-loss and fitness goals. But most importantly, you have a responsibility to yourself.<br />
<br />
Maybe it would be the appropriate time to feed you a few of your own well-chosen words when it looked like Voltman was wobbling off the fitness bike....<br />
<br />
Voltman, you lazy fat prick, pull your hands out of your date, wash them thoroughly, and go and lift some fucking weights. You are a fat prick living in Oamaru for Christ's sake. If someone had told you that would be your lot at birth, you would have thrown yourself head-first out of the pram. Or you should have.<br />
At least you can do something about the weight. And have a fucking shave whilst you are at it. Jesus, you look like Hairy Fucking Maclary.<br />
You have become the first poster to earn my wrath as a Moderator, but there is time to redeem yourself. Cook me some eggs and get yourself a salad sandwich while you are at it. Before I get really angry. And then go for a run.<br />
I am about to power-walk home, then go for a run before eating a nice little bit of kangaroo for dinner. After my dinner I expect to log on to the Fern and find out what you have done, or intend to do, to correct your failings. <br />
Once we have got you back on the straight and narrow (there will be no need to thank me), MvJ will be rectifying Crusader "I'll-start-fatbusting-once-I've-smoked-myself-half-to-death" Corey. And then the sparks will fly.<br />
Jesus... for some people it's the carrot, others the stick.
-
Noted. MvJ will be going for a run tonight, and to fitness training tomorrow with the Referees. Couldn't do the bike last night as again I couldn't fucking sleep, and didn't have any grog in the house to remedy the situation.<br />
<br />
The Results-- Week 3 thread has been cancelled due to my failing to get around to it. However the Week 4 thread will be a ripper, and timely, and we all now have a couple of days to fat-bust for that milestone. MvJ is aiming to dip below the 80kg mark at the 4-week point (remember I started at 81.8kg). If I could keep that up, 2 kgs a month for another few months, I would be well pleased. <br />
<br />
Thanks for dragging me back on course lads. I think I have to steady with the diet and exercise programmes before going the no-grog on weekends thing. By cutting it out on weeknights, generally, I have still made a significant reduction, which is a start. -
Noted? You'll do more than just fucking 'note' it Emma! :twisted: Get rid of that insideous slovenly attitude immediately, and grab the demon by the horns. I can't see why not being able to sleep would preclude you from being to do a bike session? It's not good enough MvJ, and you of all people should know this. If you don't feel like doing a bike session, go and do a beep test instead.....that way you are pushing yourself physically and mentally by operating out the comfort zone.<br />
<br />
If you are in fact back on course, as you dubiously claim, then disregard the above rant. -
You bastards! I came home tonight and went for a run and, yet again, cranked a PB-- 17.37, which is over 2.5 minutes quicker that the last time. MvJ was flying; somehow started off flat out (always a crazy thing to do, particuarly when the first bit is uphill) and kept it up. Even kept going through the stitch which I never do. <br />
<br />
The constant PBs underline just how slowly I was going the first time I did it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
And there's room for improvement because the only bit I slowed down for was the downhill coast home as I was absolutely rooted. Managed to take the stairs to my apartment though. <br />
<br />
I feel I wil sleep well tonight. <br />
<br />
Oddly, I really felt the stamina was there like it certainly hadn't been previously. The only thing I can put it down to is the walks I did over the weekend- 2 x 45 minutes, and 1 x an hour and a bit. It must be doing something. <br />
<br />
Probably the best news is that I have referee fitness training tomorrow, so that's tomorrow's evening workout planned and I'll walk home from that. Now all I need to do is get on the bike tomorrow morning... -
well done MvJ..... You should be very proud of yourself, as I've no doubt you are. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

First up, let me be the second to publicly congratulate you. Try not to celebrate with scotch <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />

<br />
Yep - long walks are bloody good for the stamina and the feelgood factor. Another thing MvJ is that sometimes the body AND mind benefit enormously from a couple of days off. Its always after the couple of days off that one feels lazy and once one convinces oneself to re-enter the world of fitness, we tend to punish ourselves by going hell for leather. And see what happens?<br />

<br />
That is good - but remember not to raise your expectations too high based on this evening's activities. Do the walk to work and bike stuff as usual, but not too hard as you might be a little sore on the morrow. Then at referee's training look to push yourself through that stitch again and show those fat ignorant bastards what you can do. You'll be reffing Uni v Randwick before you know it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -

Tourettes or what.<br />
Milly.Keep it up hun'.Out of ten how are you feeling (compared to before)? Have you gained a sense of well-being and inner balance yet? -
Thanks guys and girl,<br />
<br />
Yeah, I feel absolutely terrific RL. Still quite grumpy, but physically awesome. By the time the season proper begins I'll be absolutely flying. <br />
<br />
NTA's point about a couple of days off is well made. I'm nominating those as Friday night, Saturday and Sunday (although I'll do a bike on the Friday morning and a long walk on each of the other two days). That allows for some rugby watching and general relaxing. Sunday afternoon, particularly, I am going to do absolutely nothing. I went out for dinner last Sunday night and it royally fucked up this week. I need some downtime, to be spent lying on the couch watching the feral league. <br />
<br />
And I managed a good session on the bike this morning before work. -

Never with you RL, never with you... :love10: -
Back to reality, rugby training tonight consisted of 20 x 200 metre sprints and 20 x 100 metre sprints, interspersed with sit ups, burpees and push ups (or in my case, mainly lying on the ground panting). <br />
<br />
Anyway I got through the runs, albeit as the slowest, fattest person present. That's a total of 6km all at full tit. And I walked the 4km+ home. Madness. If I don't weigh in under 78.8kg on Sunday's 4-week weigh in, I'll give it away... -

That does sound painful.<br />

<br />
You'll do no such fucking thing. Given you're taking the weekend off your chances of not stocking back up on alcohol and fried food are fuck all. You stick with it Emma or I'll ride my bike to Potts Point and get some exercise kicking your arse! Try weighing yourself Friday morning and then check again Sunday and see the difference <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -

I'm panting at the thought of all those sprints. Good work.<br />
<br />
Peaks and Troughs MvJ, Peaks and Troughs. You would never give in when peaking so you can't give in when you hit a bit of a trough. Put yourself on the stand and give yourself a grilling if you ever feel like giving up -
Sorry, when I said "I'll give it away" for once Emma was not being the Fern's resident drama Queen, she was attempting to use an Aussie expression (which she clearly hasn't mastered). I'll give it away, meaning it's a certainty. <br />
<br />
Examples:<br />
<br />
"If Ian Thorpe isn't gay, I'll give it away."<br />
Or Tony Greig saying "If New South Wales lose this game, I'll give it away." Unfortunately he doesn't give it away, but I think the meaning is clear enough... <br />
<br />
MvJ will certainly not be giving anything away, having come this far. I am now going to have a shower and go to bed, looking forward to seeing whether I am able to get up unassisted tomorrow morning. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> If not I will have to text the boss's hot PA to ask her to come around, get me up and into the shower. <br />
<br />
MvJ is going to a course on sexual harrassment in the legal profession tomorrow, quite by co-incidence. -
that is some very solid sprint training Miller. Great work!<br />
<br />
You'd be amazed at how much more you can get out of sprint training just by putting as much as you possibly can into each run through, rather than cruising at 80%. Also, it's highly beneficial to make sure you push all the way through past the finishing line, rather than pulling up just before it. I know, it's all too easy to pull up short when you're completely fucked, but try to be true to yourself. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
MvJ pulled up short :happy:<br />
<br />
My legs are effing killing me this morning though, but I did manage some press-ups and crunches (ouch!) before jogging (most of the way) to work.
