I think @MN5 s dream might finally come true , Veitch and Jay Jay doing a show together . You know it makes sense.
Make it a tv panel show with Hilary Barry and John Campbell and special guests Polly Gillespie and Ursula Carlson.
Then I will go postal.

haha Susan Devoy!
I loathe him for what he did and his attitude, I followed his FB page as he got a lot of good info there, plenty who liked his FB page used to stick the boot in at every opportunity in the comments.. I don't think I ever listened to his show.
then there is this, which I agree to an extent
Yep. 200k 'likes' but at least half of these were just there to hurl abuse. The admin must have been kept fucken busy deleting all the nasty comments he got.

@jegga that post is pure evil.
Xmas is coming up and to remotely enjoy it I now have to try everything in my power to expunge those pics from my memory.
In fact those pictures are enough to put a halt to @Mokey s career writing lesbo porn books (sorry, romance novels)

Thankfully living in Oz I haven't had to be subjected to Veitch - except for TR frequently updating us with stuff from his FB page.
I'm unsurprised his colleagues put the boot into him. I think I've told the story of how I spent some time in his company in Queenstown (Winterfest I think) the early 2000s as my radio mates were colleagues of his, and he was pretty much universally loathed by them all back then. He was just a gobshite the entire time as well.

Not a fan of Veitch, but pretty uncomfortable that after going through the courts for his assault he is now being re-punished by losing jobs.
Agree, but any role in the public eye is pretty volatile. Even non-illegal things can ruin careers. As I said in the other thread, he's best to concentrate on something out of the public eye - people will pretty quickly forget about him then and he can just get on with his life. He shouldn't be punished forever but he needs to be realistic.

@jegga Veitch, Jay Jay, Polly...and Max Key with the sounds.
Branching out into horror stories, are you?
I didn't find Veitch particularly annoying - he'd usually have a succession of excellent guests and he mainly asked them sensible questions. Made for a pretty good sports show and if I'm driving at the weekend that's what the radio is playing. I will miss that, unless Radiosport can find someone with an equally good contacts book.

Heh. No, there is enough of that in real life. I'll stick to historical smut.
And re Veitch, it may be nothing to do with old stuff, but perhaps something new that his employers couldn't deal with and his colleagues have an inkling of. Who knows.

I'm not a fan of his and can't understand how he gets such great interviewees. I hate his (and Devlin's for that matter) fake over-the-top laugh at his guests' jokes, the sycophantic questions or the massive preamble distancing himself from a point of view before asking a 'tough question'.
I never understood how he got a job again. I disliked the majority of his interviews, his "we're best mates" presentation style and his utter lack of analysis. I often thought to myself how small a pond New Zealand must be for this clown to have a gig.
That said, the list of his co workers celebrating his exit is weird, particularly that Heveldt guy... who I only know because he appeared with Veitch on the NZHerald videos. All these people who have kept their mouth shut but now that it's not controversial or unsafe career wise, they pile on.
See Weinstein...

Yeah, it really does remind me of what's happening in Hollywood right now in terms of some of the bandwagon-ing.

I'm not. His career is in the public eye. This isn't a private citizen we're talking about and if a prospective employer does the maths and on reflection decides it's best he doesn't work for them, so be it.

Fine to have that opinion if you're consistent with it. As was mentioned further up, a few All Blacks (for example) not held to the same standard.

How did he lose this job due kicking a woman in the spine until he broke it? It looks from the news reports it was his idea to leave and start a new show of his own which I will also avoid like all his previous shows even before his assault charge.

As I've mentioned previously I'm a big fan of George Moala so was fucken disappointed and to be honest gobsmacked that he got away with what he did without a conviction. Contrast that with Zac Guildford who I pretty much couldn't stand for keeping Hosea Gear out of the ABs, I, and plenty of others, were really keen to put the boot in for his extra curricular activities.
I think the thing with Veich is that no one particularly liked him for reasons mentioned before ( smarmy, arrogant fucktard ) so I guess it became easy to have a go. I'm as guilty as any on here for this but I wonder how things would have gone if he were a broadcaster who people actually liked?
