His O line will offer him maginot level protection so we should see how he handles getting flushed out of the pocket and how he takes sacks

Watched a bit of the Eagles Bears game. Bears were terrible, but the protection for Wentz was insanely good. Armchair ride. Haven't seen them against tough opposition, but they are playing really well at the moment.

Things I hate to hear in commentary: he's north dakota tough.

Denver are fucking trash. Which is hardly surprising, given our Quarterback last year was substandard, and we signed an absolute bust as his backup. What's Shane Falco doing?

Even the defense is cooked now, after approx 6 years of carrying the team. It's rebuild time.

At least you have a Vince Lombardi trophy to show for it

it was a nice little run, couple of Superbowls, one championship, but the front office keeps making decisions like we are a contender. It's clear we are not. Some parts have been rebuilt already, but now the rest needs an overhaul. No shame in that at all, but it's the natural cycle. Well, for everyone except those fluffybunnies in New England. In simpler times Brady would be burnt for witchcraft

I think Denver can put something together again but they need a starting QB. Once teams clicked the Broncos didn't have a QB they just focused on stopping the running game (Denver's true offensive weapon).

Lynch, Osweiler and Siemien would all be third-stringers on any other team. Osweiler couldn't even start with the Cleveland Browns! 😆

@sneakdefreak maybe they'll be able to snaffle Cousins from Washington, who seem intent on chasing him away

Predictably the coach and GM are fired at the Giants, Eli Manning is rumoured to be starting again. McAdoo was an idiot and got what was coming to him, the last straw was his handling of the Manning benching

Russel Wilson should be the current favourite for MVP after that win against the Eagles. He's got no oline, no run game, not much in terms of receiver talent outside of Baldwin and Graham, but is still putting up some big numbers.

The Vikings were my dark horse team to make the Superbowl, and they're now sitting at the top of the NFC. Not sure they can get past teams like Seattle or the Saints in the playoffs, who both have elite QBs, but they've done well to get to where they are with Keenum at the helm.

It's crazy how bad the Chiefs have gotten. They've now lost 6 of their last 7 games.

Just a bit from an article by The Ringer about Wilson.

*He is on pace to shatter the NFL record for percentage of yards accrued by a single player in an offense, currently at a staggering 85.7 percent. For every 10 Seattle yards, Wilson is responsible for 8.5. Wilson has 432 rushing yards on the season, more than double anyone else on the roster. (The only other Seahawk to crack 200 yards is Chris Carson, who has been on IR since Week 4.) Seattle’s offensive line is among the worst run-blocking groups in the league, rated 28th by Football Outsiders entering the week, and the Seahawks have to rely on Wilson doing everything himself.

And it’s not like Seattle’s pass-blocking is much better. The team is tied for 26th in pass-blocking efficiency, according to Pro Football Focus, and they’ve allowed 122 hurries this season, second-most in the league. Meanwhile, Philadelphia protects Wentz with the sixth-most efficient group in football, and the 67 hurries they’ve allowed are the second-fewest in the league.*

    Dec 3, 2017

The Case for Russell Wilson, 2017 NFL MVP

The Case for Russell Wilson, 2017 NFL MVP

Seattle’s quarterback is carrying a historically heavy load. It’s time we all start paying attention.

How bout the AFC West, we all knew it was going to be tough to find a winner, but I don't think people expected them to have 3 teams on 6 wins and 6 losses.

I think someone mentioned that the Eagles have only beaten 1 team with a winning record.

Aaron Rodgers is on track to come back for Green Bay but you have to think it's a lost season now. Minnesota will win the NFC North while the losers of Saints/Panthers and Rams/Seahawks will claim the NFC wildcard spots.

The Steelers and Bengals engage in a spiteful game, including two bone jarring hits that are considered an absolute no-no in the CTE era. A big part of the problem imho is the heavy pads and helmets that essentially weaponise the players. It occurs to me that if the NFL and football are serious about trying to reduce the physicality of the game why not just take away the armour? You wouldn't drop your head into contact if all you were allowed to wear was a pair of Brian Habana style shoulder pads and a Matt Todd style headgear, similar to the padding gridiron players wore originally

@canefan not gonna lie, but as an ex receiver, when that wide out laid out that LB and stood over him i cheered like a motherfucker. Fuck those guys. I've been eaten on enough crossing routes to know you get your revenge when you can.

Of course i thought the head leading charge on the receiver as he caught that TD was filth.

I just saw that block today and it was beautiful. I, and many other non-Bengals fans have been waiting for Burfict to get laid out like that. I'm sure Smith-Schuster got a rush of pro bowl votes after that hit.

The receiver that laid the block is Samoan and has a rugby background. He'd be one of the more physical receivers in the league and said his liking for the physical stuff stems from him growing up playing rugby.

Here's another sweet block by him earlier in the season.

One of the reasons why he gets compared to Hines Ward a lot.

49ers begin their win streak by beating the Texans 23-16. Is Jimmy G the new franchise QB? It might appear so....

@sneakdefreak Jimmy G is the real deal. 49ers should ink him to a long term deal this offseason. He is only going to get more expensive.

Still waiting on tests but suspected ACL. Eagles to go out in the divisional round? Assume they're still far enough ahead to hold on to the bye.

Packers just about lost to the browns (forced over time after trailing by 14 in the 4th. Rogers may yet play again this season!

Jags looking likely to be the team no1 wants to play in the AFC playoffs..
Steelers will want to lock up the #1 seed, cos you don't wanna play the Jags (who looks likely for the #3 seed) and then potentially the Patriots.. You'd rather let the Pats play the Jags first
