NFL 2017

Just when we thought there was light...
It's a league of injuries. One bad hit, and it's season over time for the Pats
They've already lost their #1 recevier for the season.. They've been playing this year at times without Hogan, Hightower, Gilmore, Mitchell etc..
-
They may now have the same record (5-6) but the Los Angeles Chargers are all of a sudden bolting into playoff calculations (excuse the pun) in the weak AFC after destroying the Cowboys, whose season looks done and dusted in the tough NFC.
I know owners these days can be guilty of being trigger happy with coaches but Jason Garrett might be on the hot seat as Cowboys coach - he gets routinely outcoached and the franchise is really going nowhere with him as head coach - he doesnt look a championship calibre coach.
-
@kiwimurph How crazy is the AFC West. At the start of the season it looked like it was going to be a three-horse race between Kansas City, Oakland and Denver and all three had a good chance at making the Superbowl. Now it's looking like it will be the San Diego/LA Super Chargers in a tanking division.
-
With the Chiefs falling to the Bills, the Chargers are now in with a real shot being 1 game behind. And they also play each other too, which will probably be the decider to see who wins the division.
Rams also pulled off a huge win over the Saints who were on a roll..
Eagles look like heavy favourites to take it out.. Thats if they can survive the tough NFC

@sneakdefreak he should be glad to leave that dumpster fire

@mimic He was right to say no to the Chargers, they were a mess back then. I wouldn't have a problem if the number one QB in this year's draft says no to the Browns.
That 2004 NFL draft is pretty impressive when you the players from that draft. Big Ben went number 11.

and the big news in 49er land - Jimmy Garoppolo named starting QB for this week v the Bears.
Will be fascinating to watch.
His O line will offer him maginot level protection so we should see how he handles getting flushed out of the pocket and how he takes sacks
-
Denver are fucking trash. Which is hardly surprising, given our Quarterback last year was substandard, and we signed an absolute bust as his backup. What's Shane Falco doing?
Even the defense is cooked now, after approx 6 years of carrying the team. It's rebuild time.

Watched a bit of the Eagles Bears game. Bears were terrible, but the protection for Wentz was insanely good. Armchair ride. Haven't seen them against tough opposition, but they are playing really well at the moment.
Things I hate to hear in commentary: he's north dakota tough.

At least you have a Vince Lombardi trophy to show for it

it was a nice little run, couple of Superbowls, one championship, but the front office keeps making decisions like we are a contender. It's clear we are not. Some parts have been rebuilt already, but now the rest needs an overhaul. No shame in that at all, but it's the natural cycle. Well, for everyone except those fluffybunnies in New England. In simpler times Brady would be burnt for witchcraft
-
I think Denver can put something together again but they need a starting QB. Once teams clicked the Broncos didn't have a QB they just focused on stopping the running game (Denver's true offensive weapon).
Lynch, Osweiler and Siemien would all be third-stringers on any other team. Osweiler couldn't even start with the Cleveland Browns!
-
@sneakdefreak maybe they'll be able to snaffle Cousins from Washington, who seem intent on chasing him away
