I'm 50/50 on whether it was a strip or Fifita just carried the ball loose, but the ref should have gone to the TMO to double check.

Australia V England. Prediction: Australia 47 England 6

A check would have just seen the same result as it was just a loose carry and the English player was just making a tackle, and the Aussie Islander Indigenous Bogan would have done his nut a few minutes later.

Damn, Taumalolo would have been able to carry even the Kidwell coached Kiwis to the final (if Kidwell let him on the field).

    @sneakdefreak

What about using the TMO to check other things then? I remember the ref calling a knock-on at the play-the-ball when it was clear the marker punched the ball out. That happens a lot so I think the officials believe that the onus is on the ball-carrier to hold onto the ball securely.

I think the Tongan's got the rough end of the stick with the 50/50 calls in the match.

The Kiwiferns are smashing England in the semi-final at the moment. Teuila Fotu-Moala is a human wrecking ball; there's no stopping that woman! Just awesome. Honey Hireme doing her thing again, too.

    It's 24 - 4 to NZL after 54 minutes.

The Kiwiferns have beaten England 52 to 4 and will play in the Final next weekend. The commentators just said that the Kiwiferns have made every final since the inaugural women's RLWC in 2002. I expect the Aussies to win the other semi, so it should be another trans- Ta$man final.

Honey Hireme scored three tries in this game and is the leading tournament try scorer with 11 tries. Other players who impressed were Fotu-Moala, Maumau and Murray.

Thats what I thought , one of those rare ones where you could make an argument for both cases ,

but they shouldve gone upstairs to check it , but I dont believe the controversy wouldve ended there

@kiwiinmelb looks like the Tongans are giving us a lesson on what we should have done in 2007, protests through the streets of Paris!

I would have done it outside Barnes's house. With my turkey frying gear on his front porch.

    Twats

3rd night of ignorant fluffybunnies honking their horns for hours on end. It went on for 7 hours last night and we are at 5 hours so far tonight.

Oh cool the media is talking up the passion retardation

Where are the police? Well it’s a bit like the hecklers veto but this time with the fear of violence.

I don’t think it has much to do with the game anymore.. the later evening crowd is just enjoying the disruption and anti social behaviour. It’s a really scummy group out there right now

Most other groups would have been dispersed. The cops are waiting it out because they are worried about violence.. which makes sense when there is no negative media coverage. That lack of negativity means there is no pressure for them to do their job

Tough shit for the thousands that live in the city and pay the cops salaries..

Barrister Nalesoni Tupou is petitioning the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) to award Tonga a try and a conversion for the play, which would gift Tonga a 24-18 victory and send them into Saturday's final against Australia.

    🤔

Is it just me, or do people see racism everywhere nowadays? And is the Tongan team/union risking to be seen as sore losers by hiring a lawyer? Can they even achieve what they want?

This is becoming absurd. Has anyone from the team come out and said thanks for the support, but we had 80mins and didn't score enough points?

Then this is probably symptomatic of a broader issue. Because I sincerely doubt being next to lose (badly) to the Kangaroos means that much to anyone.
