Exodus 2018

I can’t argue with his decision, but if that’s what it is (it’s not actually confirmed) then I’d ask him to negotiate his overseas contract now and piss off before super rugby. We don’t need another player taking up a development opportunity and I don’t see why NZ should be paying to develop an England player.

@no-quarter I think his best year was 2016, at times he was outstanding, especially on defence in the last few games.
If he didnt have tits for hands, he wouldve been ahead of guys like fifita and squire..

Kahui is still playing?

It looks like Stephen Donald has already played his first game for Toshiba today! Familiar looking team mates
Surprised Toshiba team still in existence given the troubles of their parent company. No surprises though Beaver went there though given his mates in the team.

Official for Brad Shields to Wasps : http://www.wasps.co.uk/news/article/2017/11/19/brad-shields-to-join-wasps-in-2018-19-season

its guys like Shields that erode our rugby more than AB regulars.
Very good Super rugby players that will likely only play limited role in the ABs are always able to contribute so much to their franchise and province.
edit - according to Veitch, there was no approach by NZR for him to play in France last week.
-
If Shields plays for England, I'll swallow my knob. Eddie's too good a coach to select a bloke with toasters for hands.
-
@rocky-rockbottom I'll cook up the pop corn

@rocky-rockbottom
@Crazy-HorseReally? I'm more than happy to let you two report back to me that it happened and I'll happily take your word for it.

Better rope this area off and move the children to a safe space then. Things are about to get NSWF
I'm staying right fucken here, no way i'm missing this.
Suddenly Sheild's departure has become a whole lot more interesting. I wouldn't say him making the English squad is outside the realms of possibility. We've had a few avatar changes and hats eaten on the fern, could this be the first knob swallowing? Unlikely..but no more unlikely than FABSH from a few years back

The version of the Shields story I read ,was that he was called up as cover for the mid week game and he informed the ABs that he had signed for wasps and so would not be available next year. The ABs then took back the offer and gave it to Whitelock. Sensible as he is signed on in NZ for a while.
Not exactly skull duggery or fury on anyones part. But that doesn't buy clicks does it?
-
You’ve got to be kidding me if you think Jones would not pick him because of his hands, that might be one of the very reasons he picks him. As an example I watched the game Saturday and saw itoje carrying the ball in open space and I was pretty stunned at how ineffective he was, even English commentators brought it up.

I didn't know where to post this question and this seemed the most appropriate though it's out of date, in a way.
Edinburgh (my team) have signed) Simon Hickey from Bordeaux Begles. I don't know anything about the guy apart from what is on his Wiki page.
What sort of player is he? He has a good record with the boot from what I can see.
Cheers

Hmmm. He’s a “solid” 10 in the sense of reasonable enough at the basics. He’s not the quality of 10 to win any silverware with though. He’ll do a job at pro 14 level but not imo a great option for Europe games. Not remotely in the same class as someone like Finn Russell for example.
I’m not probably lifting your spirits too much here sorry...

Thanks, that's in line with what I've read elsewhere, but also that that is what was said about Jimmy Gopperth, so fingers crossed and all that.
I had high hopes for Jade Te Rure when he came to us but it really didn't work out, mostly through injury. Piers Francis wasn't much kop here either, but to be honest our coaching teams have been behind the curve for a while.
Richard Cockerill looks to be doing the whole new broom thing

Yeah gopperth turned out much better than his NZ form would have suggested. Hopefully hickey is the same!
