Bonus news is that Sutter has had studio permisssion for the last 4 eps of SOA5 to run as 90 minute shows. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/good.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':good1:' /> -
Thankgiving. Same for all the Thursday shows. -

Turkeys!

I'd give thanks if they didn't interrupt the scheduling.
We have to watch A Charle Brown Thanksgiving for the 1000th time instead on Wednesday. And lots of football on Thursday. Remember November sweeps end soon, so mostly repeat episodes in December for most network shows. Cable shows don't do Nielsen ratings, so it doesn't affect them. -
good to see a new series of Justified is starting in January!

Will defo have a look at Arrow, still got Dexter, Walking Dead, Bones, POI and S4 of BSG to watch, but should hold me up until the final season of BB & the next installment of GoT, a few other ones I'll watch with nothing else on too -

It is a pretty shit crop of new shows this year.

Already cancelled
Last Resort
666 Park Avenue
Partners
Made in Jersey
Mob Doctor (pretty much dead).

Of those, I only tried Last Resort, and thought it very weak.

Shows I tried for at minimum of one episode and discarded rather quickly
Revolution - meh
New Normal - steriotypical meh
Guys with Kids - lame meh
Nashville - sappy meh

Other new shows I am kind of watching, but wouldn't care if they went away
The Mindy Project (mainly cause it is on after New Girl)
Chicago Fire (Law and Order in a fire house. Cheesy and formulaic)

So that leaves one new show I am watching, and somewhat enjoying. Arrow

Cheers, so Arrow it is - and a stink season for new shows! I was keen to watch Last Resort so I'm a bit bummed about that .... Lucky I still have a bunch of Madmen to get through. -
I think the top rated new shows are Revolution, Elementary, and Go On. I wasn't a huge fan of any of the trio. Especially Revolution. The other big problem with Revolution is it is going on hiatus for 3-4 months soon. There goes any momentum it has when it returns.

I am really digging the current season of Boardwalk Empire. Nucky certainly has harnessed his inner gangster. Also enjoying The Walking Dead, Homeland, SOA, and Treme drama wise. For comedies, Happy Endings, New Girl, and The League.

Anyone see the trailer for the new Fx show that will be airing in Sons on Anarchy's time slot starting in January?
What's Vegas like Rusty?

For some reason Revolution doesn't interest me, but if I hear enough good comments about it I'll definitely take a look.

I'm kind of enjoying Boardwalk but I still think the big scene from last year was stupid and to my mind didn't fit the character (not Nucky - Jimmy).

I like all three of the comedies you mention, the first two surprised me as I thought they would be rubbish but I got that completely wrong. I still punish myself on a weekly basis with HIMYM, not because I like it but because it's first 3 and 1/2 seasons were brilliant and I keep thinking it will turn the slide around (I also thought the Zoe season was better than most people do) but I know it wont. Hopefully Community doesn't suck this year with its new show runners. I like Go On, but then I like Mathew Perry, I liked that Sunshine show he did as well. -
I am watching Revolution still, it certainly isn't must watch compelling tv, but is enough to keep me interested.

Up to ep. 3 for Walking Dead in NZ (have decided to watch on tv) and certainly looks like it is going to turn out to be a good season! SOA and Homeland still doing well.

I watched About 10 eps of New Girl on the plane and quite liked it, but haven't watched it since being back.

Never watched Boardwalk Empire, but looks like something that will interest me....
Re : Vegas. I have 7 episodes recorded on my DVR, but haven't had time to try the show yet.

My problem with Revolution is I have read SM Stirling's Emberverse series, which covers the same general premise but much more realistically. And interestingly (at least for the first 5 or 6 books). Revolution is like the simplified version for 12 year olds compared to the books.

Re: Boardwalk. The new psychotic bad guy (don't want to spoil anything for those behind) this year is awesome. A real son of a bitch. I love how unhinged he is. And the latest episode (with the box) certainly has set it up for an explosive ending in the last two shows of the season.

I am still watching a couple of other shows like Parks and Rec, HIMYM, Dexter etc but the ones I mentioned are the ones that get watched in close to real time. Others hang around on the DVR or get watched in spurts when a few are collected up.

One more to add to the watch same day enjoyment list. Person of Interest. It somehow became one of my favorite network dramas. -
I think Vegas is great. But then i do love me some Dennis Quaid

Homeland is fucking awesome. I was wondering how they were going to progess a second season, but it's ticking along quite nicely. I see Morena Baccarin was up here for the eclipse, wouldn't have minded running into her in the dark... -
Thanks for the tips Rusty, have just spent two days at home sick and managed to watch 3 and a half seasons of The League. Piss funny show, am now recommending it to all of my friends.

Like Friends but for guys, but with better banter and about sport. I can imagine if you were an NFL fan you would appreciate it even more for the game talk and player/pundit cameos (I only have a passing interest and don't know 90% of the players they mention). -
Ok, so I watched the first episode of Arrow ... and man was it cheesy. Although there was enough good stuff that I'll give the 2nd episode a watch, because I have questions about how he 'learnt' his skills etc (obviously I have never read the DC comic) and hope later episodes will explain.

I am annoyed that the best friend character spoilered the ending of Lost, I know it's been finished a few years but I haven't yet got round to watching it! -
really, so someone knew what happened at the end of Lost?

Reckon SOA is trucking along nicely this season, had a couple of flat episodes, hope they have a better finale than last year!!

Walking Dead is also bloody good this season I reckon! -

I don't know, I haven't seen it!

As for SOA the season has been pretty good although Jax seems like a new character, he barely resembles the guy from the earlier series and they didn't play the arc well enough for it to be believable IMHO. -
I watched Lost, start to end....
-
he was one of the guys out of Terriers wasnt he?
