JT came up with the indigenous tribute opening. When I saw a news report during the week about it and some of the Kangaroo players getting instructions, I had visions of early 80s AB hakas and the overwhelming feeling that it was going to be awkward. It didn’t disappoint in that regard.

It was awkward, but good on them for embracing something like that.

Had to. Wallabies left them behind with the indigenous jersey, according to some. Whatever - neither game probably does enough for the ATSI community. Particularly when you compare them to AFL.

The Aussie team looks beatable ...... if there was a team capable of beating them 😄,

The short lived good kiwi team from a few years back would beat them I reckon ,

    Not this one though .

Love the Kiwis haka, they all looked like they literally wanted to kill someone by the end of it.

    Samoa’s was pretty good too.

    Rapana in early.
Good try, running on the last from our own half

Kiwi’s with a play to clear their line that even the Warriors would be embarrassed about.

    J H Christ.

Kiwis can’t get off their own line after 3 tackles then decide throw it around behind the posts and Mannering throws a forward pass.

How’s that obstruction when there was no defender within 5m?

Yeah, bizzare call alright. The referee is English if that helps shed any light on it!

I reckon 75% of the tackles made in league would be penalised in rugby.

Really noticeable the differences in what is allowed re contact with the head and what isn’t between the codes

Thought he must have been French, especially factoring in the made up scrum penalty early on.

No, definitely English. Just look at him, he fits the bill - Skinny and spewky, almost malnourished look, complete with pasty milkbottle like legs = definitely English!

It’s like watching a much more energetic version of the Warriors. More effort, but equally error prone.

    @donsteppa bang on.

Aussie will hump us if we make this many errors against them.

    Try Maumalo.

    10-4

Samoa will get a couple more chances before the half coz the Kiwis will make an error

This tournament is a really long winded way of awarding the title to Australia.

Tough call there, it looked like the black player knocked the ball forwards out of the blue players grasp thus a knock on and not a try.
