Magpies v Manawatu

Very poor from Lamborn, but just like the old Manawatu Hawkes Bay games from the 70's and 80's

I don’t advocate dirty play like knees and elbows but nice to see a bit of funk in the game.

That try is on you Lamborn. As an international player you should know better than to throw an elbow to the head

Andrew Horrell was in the changing room. Get him on the field

So was a guy, that must be one of the managers, who whizzed past me to score a try in a Golden Oldies game at Farndon Park one wet and cold Sunday about twenty five years ago, he must have been in with a chance of making the team when they sifted through who was available.

I think someone must have put a hallucinogenic into my beer at half time

The Magpies score converted try to Gareth Evans (didn't realise he was still on as he is usually invalided off well before now). I fall out of the Lazyboy in shock and sadly the almost full Heiny tumbled over, luckily my quick reflexes righted the situation before too much was spilled. The shock continued whilst I was cleaning up the spillage when the Magpies score not one but TWO tries to take the lead. I can scarcely believe it.
Hawkes Bay 19 - 17 Manawatu after fifty minutes
