North Harbour v Taranaki

Provincial rugby, making Li look a superstar since ages ago.
-
@taniwharugby The ultimate flat track bully.

@jk It really is a 'B' side Taranaki have put out.
Of course but you can only play against the team that turns up

And it will always be recorded in the record books as Taranaki 1st XV. People will soon forget that Taranaki could have fielded a stronger team than they did front up with.

North Harbour 33 - 19 Taranaki at half time. Plenty of inventive play and running coupled with the same amount of ineffective defence has made for an open game. In all reality had Nth Harbour not made so many handling errors they could well have been close to fifty points at the break.

@african-monkey tbf I was a big fan of his at age group and expected him to kick on and become a special player, shame he hasn't.
-
@taniwharugby He just looked bigger than everyone else I thought when he was coming through. He lacks size and struggles to stay on his feet with his power game he tries to play with.

Yep, growing up he was bigger. It's just that it seems he stopped growing at 18, and everyone else got bigger..

As mentioned in another thread, I very much doubt that Li will reach an AB jersey. Very surprised the Sevens team haven't snapped him up though, they certainly need that pace.
Maybe an offer was rejected? I guess that he can still build a reasonable highlights reel in XVs to command some good pounds or Euros in a couple of years.
