I only have one main meal a day as it is ( get a bloody good feed at work )

This might be something to reconsider. Better off with multiple smaller feeds across the day then one main mega feed -
Had a good first week.
Ate fruit through the day and one meal at night (Shiftwork)
Drank 4 litrers of water a day and nothing else.
Busy at work so only did 4 exercise sessions of oone hour at a time.
Dropped 5kg!!!
Fully aware that now I have to start putting serious work in exercise wise to get down to target weight but as Bart said having bthat early result is a great motivator. -
so what DID you eat? Fruit and one meal through the day is NOT a sustainable lifestyle!! If you do this and lose weight, and then go back to 'eating normally', you will go back to what your body was when you were last 'eating normally'...

carbs / protein / fats, they'll all needed! -
The bad news is fruit is nature's candy, so you won't lose weight long term eating that as a replacement for fat/protein/carbs. You won't be getting everything you need to stay healthy as well, what you weigh is only one aspect of that.

Keep up the water and avoiding the obvious pitfalls (fizzy drinks, most things from a packet) and eat meat, nuts (not peanuts), sweet potato, and as much fresh veges as you can take (and some fruit). Avoid bread, rice, potatoes, and stuff like that.

You've made a good start, not it's about how you make it part of your routine so you don't have to think about it. -
14th May - Currently weighing in at 111kg I have a wedding to attend on November 4th .........

One week out from the wedding and I've trimmed down to 95kg.
My diet was certainly more crappy than I thought!
Exercised hard for the first month but have done very little since to be honest.

Cutting out tea, coffee and all sugary drinks ( with the exception of a few grogs in the weekend)and replacing them with water has been really important I believe.

Anyhow I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone and my waist is the smallest its been in 25 years.

Got another wedding in March and the target weight is 87kg.
Will need to start exercising to achieve it so will start after the weekend when I intend to eat and drink shiteloads!!!!!
