Two interesting things to note. Scrums were formed and engaged and ready to go within a few seconds of the referee's whistle blowing, none of the crouch set engage marathons process that takes about whole minute.
The other noticeable thing was there were no post pads. Oh and England scored a try, another rarity in those days! -

@taniwharugby I did try quite hard (like for all of 5 minutes) to find some old clips of the RS challenges against Akl from the 70's to put up but without success.
I was at EP in 71 to see the Shield go north.
