Great result for the Bangles. Amazing that we haven't lost to them yet (yet!) but the Aussies have! The pitch was turning square, hard to bat on, but that is the subcontinent. Really good batsmen adapt.
Going to be a great series. How long since the Ockers won a test series over there?

Well done Bangladesh, always been a fan
If Shakib played for England or Oz he'd be considered a superstar of the game
He has a few parallels with Sir Paddles, including (but not only):
2- Number of cricketers to score a half-century and take ten wickets in a match more than once. By achieving this feat in Mirpur, Shakib Al Hasan joined a rare club with Richard Hadlee. The New Zealand great did this thrice, one more than Shakib, who also became the sixth cricketer to achieve this double against Australia.

No more Ch.9 cricket commentary it appears.

I don't think it's any surprise that it has gone south as soon as Michael Clarke was given an expanded role...
Jesus, imagine Bruce McAvaney doing the cricket? "you just feel like the next wicket is crucial don't you?"
"yeeesss, he's a champion isn't he?"
Who will be his Cyril Rioli?
Foxtel do cricket very well, Brendan Julian leads their roster with a great deal of professionalism, and just enough personality.

@mariner4life Bruce's favourite stupid quote for mine was about some horse that won three Melbourne Cups in a row (Makybe Diva according to google) - as the race ended:
"She's a champion and she knows it"
No, Bruce. She's a horse who runs faster than the other horses, surmounted by a midget with a whip.
I accept she's a horse that loves to run, and do it faster than the other horses, but I'm far from convinced that the equine brain understands the term "champion".
-
@mariner4life you have a good point. Perhaps it was
"She's a champion, isn't she? And she knows it!" said Bruce, answering his own question.

that is perfect! and kinda growl the "and she knows it"

@mariner4life yep that was exactly the tone. Its a term you can only describe as McAvaneous.
