Lonzo Ball with a monster game in the NBA Summer League for the Lakers - 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocks
Followed up today with another triple double. Although he shot poorly this time it's apparently not been done in the 13 year history of the Vegas summer league
Summer league is just not much of an indicator of anything though

No you are right. But the last person who posted numbers like that was a scrub named kobe Bryant. We will see

@canefan top game scorer in summer league history. ....Anthony Morrow.

Who ....exactly ☺
Summer league is a weird thing.
Lakers will likely form a super team next summer and your good times will roll... -
Anthony Morrow wasn't a bad player when he started in the league. Was a good scorer off the bench at the Warriors and New Jersey averaging double figures. Then he became a bit of a journeyman.
I think Ball will be okay. He's got an NBA ready game as a passing/rebounding point guard. Might have the odd big scoring night, but I think his vision and quicks is what the Lakers will want most out of him.

I guess those other megastars are looking at the Harden contract and sayin', "time for me to get dem checks"

Derrick Rose signs a 1 year deal with the Cavs.
Veteran's minimum, $2.1m per season. He was on a $94m, 5yr deal previously. Ouch.

Was he dreadful for much of that previous deal? Google tells me he's only 28, so it's not like he needs a zimmer frame on the court.

He's injury riddled though. One injury away from the end. Decent pickup for CLE if he stays healthy

Never been the same since the knee. But the off court stuff hasn't helped his cause when at the negotiation table.
I guess he's giving himself a genuine chance to be a contender.

If the Land shift Irving before the start of the season the load will be much greater on Rose. They'll probably still be favourites to win the East barring management blowing it all up
-
@canefan If LeBron stays healthy, they win the East, almost regardless of what else happens.
Problem is, 14 of the best 15 players in the league are now in the West. This is as lopsided as its been for decades. So whoever comes out of the West (probably, ugh, the Warriors) and into the Finals will be super battle-hardened and it'll be very tough for Cleveland to compete.
