Peta Hiku has been released by the Panthers, heading to Superleague.

Yay, no more stinking up the Kiwis now.

Man. He's had a quick fall from grace, from next big thing at Manly, to the Panthers and now to the retirement league.

Surprised the Knights didn't offer him a contract. Would rather have him than Kata right now tbh, Kata has struggled big time this season.

@booboo Yup - he's been released from his contract and joins the French club this week. Fat lot of use he was.

I think I'd have him over Kata as well. I told everyone Kata was shit but he fooled everyone last year because he ran hard.

Penalties proving costly to both sides. A try each on field position provided by penalties

A game NSW should have won but lost 18-16 because they chose to go conservative in the second half and Queensland were allowed to attack wave after wave on the NSW defence.

What happened was, for 45 minutes the NSW forwards were on top, allowing their quick blokes (especially Tedesco) to get out of dummy half, put the Qld defense on their heels, and then pick them off with inside balls. Qld were too lateral, and not hard enough on the run, and were in danger of another flogging.

And then, at about the 45 minute mark, a bunch of shit happened. Tedesco was hurt. Frizell was hurt. Napa came back on and started smashing blokes. Then Wallace did the same. The forward tide turned, and NSW froze. Cronk, Smith, Slater and Thurston, 4 of the best players of all time saw it, and lifted. But the guy who started it was Napa.

The end was inevitable. And if Qld had an attack pattern that wasn't 10 years old, it would have come sooner. Seriously, how many times can one team get pushed over the sideline before you work out NSW are set up to defend that?

During that period of NSW dominance, i honestly thought it was time to put Cameron Smith out to pasture. The game he is best suited to is not what Origin seems to be now. Then in the last 35 he was fucking immense. He ran, he tackled, he schemed, a masterclass.

NSW will be shitting bricks they have just let slip what should have been a comfortable series win.

Yeah, the injuries to NSW stuffed up their bench rotation. Their forward pack ran out of puff. Dugan is a great defensive fullback, but doesn't offer the same running lines as Teddy.
Also didn't help that they didn't complete their sets and gave away silly penalties to give Qld a piggy back ride into the NSW half.
During NSW's dominance, Frizell was running at and targeting JT (during kicks) and gaining easy meters. Once Frizzel went off, not much pressure was put on JT and made it easier for him to make plays.

You could sense that Qld would come back if NSW didn't finish them off. It was like watching the All Blacks play Ireland/Wales

The NRL Facebook went feral with NSW fans attacking the reffing and the NRL with all sorts of conspiracy theories.

Queensland NRL Memes Facebook page having all sorts of fun with it in return:

    "All aboard the Choke Plane"
