Maori AB's have had 7% territory in the second half. SEVEN.

What has the territory been in the second half?

    All of it.

    Wrong....was only 87%

Sky says 13% but ESPN says just 7%.

What surprises me most is that the coaches waited so long to make changes. I'd have taken Dmac off much sooner (or make the moves I suggested earlier).

Two tennets of rugby shone through today

1 The ball will always travel faster than the man
On the plus side, the Lions have kicked deep and chased well.
Unfortunately we can't put men in space by letting the ball do the work

2 You can't play without the ball
    Lions have been excellent

Fuck the ABs better have a plan for getting some decent ball and keeping it away from the Lions pack

I expect catching the ball will go a long way to achieving that

    Exactly.

Sure the Lions have played relatively error free, strangling rugby, it's nothing the ABs can't deal with.
The Maori having great big tits for hands doesn't make the Lions any more of a threat than they were before this game.

Samoa would have torn this Maori side apart

@Stargazer Yep. Big matches are all about communication and combinations.

@Stargazer They should have subbed the forwards earlier. They were beat up. The Lions forwards were always going to dominate.

The Maoris might have done better to slip those mere used during the haka up their jumpers and used them to thump Leigh Halfpenny over the head. Or Hika Elliott could have done some karate kicks. Is Jono Gibbes still alive? Never mind, he'll be spinning standing up.The game was 2005 in reverse. Maori spent too long drinking their own kool aid.

I'm just watching a version of this game in my head, played under a roof. Imagining that if all those dropped catches had been made, then at least a couple of times that backline would have run it back, rather than kicking it.
    It's a great game.

When you only have 17% second half posesion, I guess you don't want to chip kick it away v rush defence.

    Result is carnage.
