@Baron-Silas-Greenback why? Expensive team beats other expensive team is hardly a fairytale. The Cavs have the highest payroll in the league.
Draymond Green is a fuckwit. Curry is a phony, Durant is a ring chaser and the coach is an SJW

@Baron-Silas-Greenback fair enough, I've hated teams for less
-
GS draws first blood. They show no signs of rust, Durant had a strong scoring game and won most of his one on one defensive matchups against LBJ. Cavs only have to win the next game to steal home court but they got blown out and their defensive frailties were ruthlessly exposed

I could not like this more, 1000% agree.

Far too many turnovers by the Cavs and giving up offensive rebounds.
Warriors aren't a great offensive rebounding team, but if you give them second shots they will make you pay.
Klay's defence against Kyrie and on the switches really set the tone. KD and Curry will find ways to score, but the defence in the 2nd and 3rd was big and won them that game.
-
LBJ on a mission. Big first half and sweet dunk to boot.
High scoring from both sides. I think Cavs better start playing better D, I'd back the Warriors at home in a shootout against the Cavs
-
Bloody good game to watch today. If the Cavs want to turn this into a run-and-gun series then they will be lucky to win a game.
They can hang with the Warriors for 3 quarters at that pace, but not 4. Their bench is non-existant, which doesn't help.
If they slow the pace of the game, then they can compete. But barring a massive cold streak from Curry AND Durant AND Thompson... I can't see them winning. But I said that last year.

Except they didn't have KD. He is in otherworldly form at the moment

Lebron looked gassed after half time and started shooting jumpers and stopped going to the hole. Kyrie was playing ISO ball. JR and Shump stunk the house out. Love toiled hard. Bench not enough.
GSW tightened their D and cut the TOs a bit and everyone did their job. Steph huge from the FT line. Great to see Klay starting to hit.

There is a salary cap, but the penalty for exceeding is a 'luxury tax'. Essentially you jus have to pay a prohibitive sum of money, which some teams choose to do.
That said, I'm not sure if Golden State actually exceed the cap. Steph Curry is on a ridiculously cheap deal (which he signed years ago), and I think Draymond is similar. And past the 'big four' they barely pay a dime - a lot of rookies and vets on cheap deals.

They will have a hard time keeping the band together with their big four coming up for new contracts in the next 2 years

GS have the 8th highest salary bill in the league. Durant's on a fair whack, but it falls away quickly to Thompson and then Green. Curry is on measly money (well, by NBA standards).
The Cavs are #1, mainly due to LBJ's giant salary, but then both Love and Irving are on more than Thompson. Then 5 other guys from $5m-$15M
-
These GS guys seem pretty unselfish and focussed on team greatness. Steph and Klay are sons of NBA player dads and may have a different attitude to money and winning. I think Steph is up next, it remains to be seen if he takes less money to try and entice Klay and Draymond to stay or whether they move on to get a bumper contract elsewhere

JR Smith is on close to $13m and both Shump and Frye are on $8m+. Derrick Williams who only plays garbage time is on $5m

That was a ridiculous game today. Warriors scored 118 and lost by a margin. Everything Cavs touched turned to gold, it was brilliant to watch.
I doubt they can do it again... but it would be amazing if they did.
They maxxed out today and it was GS that was cold from 3 point land
