Americas Cup

I hadn't looked at the schedule, but the way these guys were talking about boats and teams developing through the regatta, I thought this America's Cup was going to drag on for several months. I thought we were in some largely meaningless preliminary skirmish, with points bound to ramp up in more telling later rounds.
But we're not. The first team will be knocked out on Saturday. That will be the end of Oracle's participation until the actual Cup races and the whole thing will be finished before the end of June.

No racing today due to lack of winds. So all rolls over to tomorrows reserve day
Was reading that winds are going to get lighter as they head in to summer there and would expect averages in the 8-12knot range. They also seem to think that Team NZ may have the fastest boat in the lighter winds as appears to foil easier.

Soooo.
After this mornings races dare we starting believing..again.
Smacked the frenchies and comfortably put away the other kiwi with all the baggage.
Sailed at 100% foiling, first time it's been done so far.
And on top of that fluffybunny face spittall lost again to the swedes.
Big race tomorrow, if we can beat cuntface then not only will we too the challenger series, we get to choose our opponent in the semi finals. And if we make it to the big dance we come with 1 point as a head start. -

Was never that interested in yachting but always wondered why team NZ hang on to Barker for so long.
Guys like Coutts and Burling won Olympic medals Barker's involvement with Olympics goes something like this. Is he that good a sailor?
Olympic Games
1996 – Unsuccessfully trialed to represent New Zealand in the Finn for the 1996 Olympic Games.
2000 – Did not participate in the New Zealand selection trials due to America's Cup commitments.
2004 – Represented New Zealand in the Finn finishing 13th out of 25 competitors -

@canefan That was pretty good. Basically STFU.
So who would you all pick to race in the semi, and why?
It looks like we have the setup and team work to do better in light airs (forecast next 2 weeks) than most teams but Japan will likely have access to all of Oracle's tech and the Warkworth traitors that scuppered us in the last cup. If it was Japan v Oracle in the cup would it be rigged (yes pun intended)? Would anyone care?
I reckon that we take on Ainslie now. Take out the best sailor that perhaps doesn't quite have the boat setup perfect. They will all get better but there must be a performance plateau and I think we have the best chance against them now (rather than later - should we advance to the finals). Artemis and Japan are both going to be tough to beat so they can fight it out.

Damn it. We lost to Oracle again. So no wins against the evil empire and we surrender a one point advantage to them in the AC final
The worst part is that the races against Oracle has seen ETNZ shit the bed. The Aussie has it all over Burling.
