NFL 2016

A good career despite not much team success. Ended his career with the third highest passer rating of all time. Not bad for someone who went undrafted.
I thought he might have tried a year in Denver but I guess the injuries took their toll. I wonder if he will live to regret his decision
It seems if he did stay in the game, he was likely going to sign with the Texans.
It makes sense. The Texans are in the same state as the Cowboys, so he has no worries about relocating. They also have similar strengths and weaknesses to the Broncos, but they are in an easier division.
Only problem is that they've never won anything and usually choke like dogs when things matter
That's as accurate a description of Tony Romo as I've ever read

Let us relive his greatest moment:

Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, acquitted of a double murder just days ago, died after hanging himself in his prison cell Wednesday morning, Massachusetts prisons officials said.
Sad end to a sad story of opportunity lost
Seems to be a problem that a few American sportsmen face - they come up from the "hood" and they still want to keep it real when they make it big. Unfortunately they get dragged down by people around them.
I don't feel overly sorry for him - he made the choice to kill someone, he reaps the consequences of that. In America, those consequences are very big ones.

Hernandez was from New England so when New England drafted him (despite concerns about his character) he basically hooked up with his old mates. Shame, as he was a real talent and was used as a TE, RB and WR during his short career.

How about this one?

NFL Draft begins tomorrow. Not a great draft as there are no legit superstars but it appears Myles Garrett will be drafted by the Cleveland Steamers with the first overall pick.
No one really knows who the 49ers should draft. Some say a safety, some say a running back, others say a defensive end. Maybe a quarterback (although most think the 49ers will wait for later rounds to do that, IF a decent QB falls to them)
I'm holding out hope that another team will bite and trade a ton of picks to San Fran for the second overall pick.

A draft special i watched the other day, the panel all agreed that none of the Qtr Backs should be first round, so there is a gamble to be made there.

Someone will bite - they always do. I just hope it's not the 49ers.

New untested GM? Hopefully he and Shanahan won't want to kick their tenure off with a bang

This is the beauty of the six year deals for both the 49ers Head Coach and GM. Either a) they don't have to rush into a QB or b) if they do think one of these QBs is the guy they are in a really good spot to pick him and develop him behind Hoyer who is the perfect bridge QB - the rookie QB won't have to play right away. I agree I think ideally 49ers should trade down in the first round.
There's a lot of late buzz about Trubisky to the Browns at 1. I don't buy it - I think they are more likely to trade up from 12 to snag him after taking Garrett at 1.
-
I think this new 49ers regime - they're both smart guys and will know they have zero experience in these roles - will just take the best player available which means they will be taking one of the defensive backs.

Draft begins. CLEVELAND IS ON THE CLOCK!
-
Myles Garrett goes one.
-
49ers have traded their pick to the Bears! Drop one slot down and get a 3rd and 4th this year and another pick next year.

The Bears bit. Drafted Mitchell Trubisky with the 2nd pick.
