Last night was the best "shit" game i have seen in a while. Terrible skills and execution, but tight with a great finish
You sound like a fucking Victorian. Or Gus Gould talking about NRL.
-
Sometimes the poor execution is as much about the oppositions pressureas it is your own skills ,
Their seems to be more games looking like that now than there ever used to be , I don't think the skills have gone downhill but their time to get rid of it is a lot less now than it ever has been , add to that the modern trend is about playing on quickly to try and get past the press into open space .
They seem to be prepared to roll the dice to achieve that
-
The hawthorn model of precision passing , steady as she goes , keeping the ball away from the opposition Is yesterday's news .
Now , it's more about moving it on quickly , to try and find room to go rather than getting bogged down in limited space.
The bulldogs are leading the way and the rest are trying to follow -
Freo up by 10 points with 8 minutes to go. Boil over on the cards.
Crows now up 2 goals against Port.
-
Freo beat Doggies. Huge last quarter by Fyfe.
-
Huge goal from 65m+ from Tex.
Crows up by 3 goals now. Look home
-
After 3 rounds the hawks will be last on the ladder ,
Who would've believed that ?
-
Gary Ablett is a fucking star
Eat a dick Hawthorn
-
Tyrone Vickory was the most maligned player at Richmond over the last decade , and Hawthorn traded him for pick 26 ,
All sorts of banter going around, many happy Richmond supporters , and the Hawks supporters are going feral about it
Richmond without Vickory 3-0
Hawthorn with Vickory 0-3 -
Clarko has got that feeling you get when you throw something out, and then a week later realise you really fucking need it.
Poor old Tyrone is copping a hammering on social media, he's basically his own meme.
Interesting set of results really. We started the weekend with 8 unbeaten, and 8 without a win. Now we have 3 unbeaten, and 3 without a win. And because it's apparently opposite day, Richmond and Hawthorn appear to have swapped positions... and Sydney! This season is drunk and needs to go home.
The Lions in another game, actually hit the front, but St Kilda are the better side, and our kids didn't know how to go on and win it. Even though we are 1-2, I'm pretty happy with how we have started the year. We need to be competitive if we are any hope to stop Melbourne clubs raiding us at the end of every season
-
They let Mitchell and Lewis go for nothing , and brought in Vickory on a big contract trading away their best pick ,
A decade or brilliant trading brought unstuck in one year
-
@kiwiinmelb they're fucked. They've traded away all their draft picks, their players are old and dropping in value, it's going to take some serious list management to stop them freefalling
-
I guess at the same time , most supporters would gladly accept 3 consecutive flags to then spend some time rebuilding as a consequence ,
As a tiger supporter would accept 1 flag 😀
-
Hawks supporters? Accepting? hahaha
You just better hope it's a rebuild, and not a Brisbane Lions.
Richmond would just like a win in September wouldn't they? Baby steps mate...
Bit of chat about the Tigers now, at 3-0. Still, I'll wait until they beat someone good. Carlton, the Pies, and the Eagles in Melbourne isn't the toughest run of fixtures. They do appear to have learned some lessons from last year though.
-
Im still expecting the Tigers to finish somewhere in the middle ,
There is a big group of teams with not much between them ,
Tigers seem to be playing on a lot of adrenaline right now , winning games through sheer will ,hard gut running for 4 quarters ,
not sure how long they can keep that going , Im keeping a lid on it for now
-
Four from four with Melbourne next week...

Forgetting ladder positions and just looking at the teams on paper , this game is closer to 50 50 than many will think ,
Melbourne are a well balanced side these days , are guilty of lapses, but always lift against us ,
have beaten us 3 or 4 years in a row
-
Hawthorn get smacked again. And very badly. It's gone very wrong, and at least Sydney have a bunch of players to come back. They had a crack today and got smoked, that's a very bad sign.
4 rounds in and you can make some judgements now. Adelaide and GWS the early form sides. Richmond a gimme draw but look good enough to play finals. Bulldogs playing well for a young team with a premiership hangover. Geelong for the top 4.
Lions still to get the spoon
