@antipodean Gonna blow up the NRL and things like Mad Monday. Serious culture change needed at the NSW clubs.

@Sneakdefreak the only thing that surprises me is that people are surprised. Okay, the charity jersey thing is new, and really shitty.

But rampant cocain use? Pouring money through pokies? betting on NRL through side accounts? None of this shit is new, and you only hear about the guys that get caught.

Any rugby league cheerleader that tries the "isolated incident of a troubled young man" should be slapped on TV. This is a wide problem across professional sport. These young guys are rich and bored, you need to give them something to do.

@mariner4life Steve Price talked about his gambling problems when at the Bulldogs. Said he all the young guys had a ton of money and little else to do with their lives, so they just hung around the clubrooms putting coins in the pokies. If it can happen to him, it can happen to most of the players in the NRL and NSW/Queensland Cup.

Early days but the Eels have looked good and will surely be settling for nothing less than a top 4 finish. Possibly the most potent backs in the comp (Radradra, Jennings, Hoffman, French). Well balanced pack which has grit, graft (Mannah, Beau Scott) and some serious firepower (Matagi, Moeroa, Mau'u, F.Pritchard). The key to this will be the halves combo. Corey Norman all the skills in the world....just needs to find the consistency and stay our of trouble! Clint Gutherson looks like he might be the buy of the season a la Maloney for the Sharks!

@Nogusta yea, amazing how the Eels have recovered so quickly from their problems. Bet they learned a lesson...

I fucking hate the Roosters, but they are looking very impressive. Once they learn to play for longer, they are going to be hard to stop.

RTS is out of the game with concussion. Tui Lolohea will start at fullback and Ryan Hoffman will captain the side.

I reckon Panthers may just do enough to beat them this weekend. Could be an early preview for the GF

@JK not sure what to make of the Panthers. Hammered by a shit team in round one, then hammered a half decent team in Round 2. Maybe the expectation got to them for the first game?

Didnt read too much in to game 1 myself. Bet on Dragons to win it for a number of reasons. I thought Panthers were over rated (in betting market anyway) plus halves pairing still not over experienced. Still, their first up performance was more disappointing than I expected.

Going to the Broncos V Storm tonight ,

Usually these clashes are pretty intense with the coaches who dont get on , but , had no rain here for weeks , and its raining today

Slaters first game for some time , his inclusion could be massive if he is anywhere near his best and stays fit , considering they made the GF last year without him

Storm to win tonight and cover the line. Cant see Bronco's getting themselves up for it after last weeks mamoth effort. Plus storm at home for the first time this season. Expect a big performance.

Would love to see Nelson Asofa-Solomona back in Union. Looks really destructive and has a good offloading game. Hopefully he sees the light and comes back.

Tight game, the Bronco outside backs tackled like heroes all game and kept them in it.

Strange game from the Melbourne attack really, seemed the whole plan was give it to Billy, and it nearly cost them.

If you want a laugh find a page on Facebook called The Ankle Tapper, especially when Brisbane lose. It's canerbry-esque

Was a pretty good battle last night and a great kick to finish. That early broncos try really set up the game. Gave them a sniff and they almost took it!

I sometimes think they just make up rules as they go along.

Anyway, I turned over and watched at halftime in the Blues v Crusaders game and saw a try each and both teams looking cabbage. Lots of Graham bitching and moaning too but it's ok because he's PASSIONATE! OUR GAME!!!
