Having not seen the pitch, I doubt I would have gone for the two spinners in Dunedin. It was an interesting selection but one that seems to be paying off to this point.

Just flicked on. The pitch is very motley in colour, Jeets seems to be harnessing significant assistance from it

@Cyclops I think Rossco is at first slip.

@Hooroo apparently Patel had a 7 wicket haul on the ground very recently, so that may have been a factor....

Is it too early to start talking about Michelle?

Patel over bowled by a couple overs.
Still a great morning session for the Craps

okay, i've been very distracted by the Off Topic section, and all the walking, but the saffas are rebuilding well.

Positive for us is we seem to be keeping the pressure on, the run rate is very low, just need to find a way to turn it in to a wicket

Fuck I forgot the cricket was still on, looks like we bombed a few chances during this middle session

Elgar is putting together the perfect test hundred. Complete patience for a long period of time. Has got the feel for the wicket and the bowlers and is now destroying them

Yep, we need a wicket in the next 5 overs otherwise, the pressure release valve has been activated. Scoring freely now.

Neesham struggles a bit to find a decent line, but he gets the ball through.

He's fresh, but bowling in the low 140s. Boult came back to bowl the final over of the session and didn't get past 136kmh. I can't really recall Timmy past 140 in recent times.

Handy getting Faf. The big miss was at the start of the session where BJ was slow to get down to an Elgar nick and dropped it. Would have been 60 something for four.

    And so ends the day.

Positives? The first hour. And despite still being in and only 4 down at stumps, they've only got 229 on the board, meaning they haven't got away on us.

Negatives are the workloads on the top 4 bowlers; by all accounts the fielding (again); and the fact they've been pretty comfortable even if not scoring. Imagine if ABdV was in now?

Very disappointing end result given that Cook, Amla and Duminy scored five runs between them.

Still, as I've noted before, on most pitches I reckon 220/4 is par, so hard to say they've really got away from us.

Is it too harsh to note that if Jeets can avoid getting a wicket for another 28 runs he'll get his test average up to 50?

    Serious or sarcastic ?

No wickets ( there's a surprise ) and third most ( or least depending on how negative you want to be ) economical bowler out there today?

Just thought you would like to know 🙂

You can bust out all kinds of statistics to prove a point especially on the interweb but I'm sure his variation is worth more than any number of Michelle's.....

Elgar gets a healthy edge off Wagner, but it drops six inches in front of Rossco.

Comms making the point if that one doesn't carry then there's not many that will - slips probably too deep on this pitch.
